Perfect tool add on if you have an impact driver. I've been using this to hang storm doors and what not. I'm glad I got the chuck version over the other. Super solid. Love it.

I'm writing this review 3 years after purchasing. Originally I bought this to replace my last one; which only lasted a few months until it locked up. It was some other brand off Amazon. This one immediately out of the box looked like it was much more quality, and it is. The steel is hardened, and has stood up to quite a bit of abuse. I bought this to make my impact driver into a danger drill so it had its fair share of not so gentle rotations. I also haven't lubricated it single time, dropped it in concrete, exposed to moisture multiple times, lost the chuck, and it still functions like to did when new. If you're on the fence over a few bucks and the overwhelming selection of chucks on Amazon, this one will buy you at least 3 years of moderately abusive drilling and hold up to the rigors of being mounted in an impact driver. I've managed to jam it a few times, but a pipe wrench and a vice grips always solves it. That was what caused the premature failure of the other one I had before this, locked up and never unlocked. This is decent piece of metal for about 15 bucks. Hope this helps

This is a great product! I have been using this just fine with my Makita 1/4" Hex Impact Drill since I don't own an actual driver drill (one day soon hopefully). But it works just great except... CONS: -it doesn't function perfectly 100% of the time. I'd say 15-20% of the time the chuck can come lose and whatever bit you have attached inside can come flying right out. I've never been harmed nor has anything near me been (thank god) so I'm not going to completely trash it. Also, it is more likely to happen the longer you're pressing on the trigger which shouldn't be too often. But just to rest-assure you, I'm currently using it with a car buffing attachment and so far so good. No issues yet (*knocking on wood*...damn I shouldn't have brought it up period). -And another minor pet-peeve is the length it sticks out of my hex drill...but what should I expect given it didn't originally come with the drill itself. PRO: the upside & selling point = THE PRICE! this is more than half of the price of most of its competitors. And it works, period (unless you plan on building a house or something...). But this is definitely one of those "you get what you pay for" items you should praise it more for its positives and not worry too much about its negatives.So I personally think I got a fantastic deal and product.

I do not recommend using it on drivers without adjustable power settings, because the bit will get lodged into material due to a flaw with its jaws during reverse rotations. The chuck locks fine for driving bits into things but not while backing bits out of the them—they get lodged. It’s not worth what it costs in my opinion, but it’s handy here and there.

This is a keeper. Runs true and no wobble. It’s exactly what I have been looking for. The chuck key fits tight and grips the mandrill for a tight fit on the drill. I gave up on the 1/4” hex drill bits because there low quality and are always stripping out of the hex holder. Happy camper now. Buying another one right now !
