SimpliCam 1080p Wired Indoor Home Security Camera with Built-in Privacy Shutter - Compatible with Gen 3 Home security system

Bought this for indoor use looking outside. I couldn’t be happier. 120° radius, it plugs into the wall so you don’t have to deal with batteries and if you lose your electricity, it’s automatically backed up to your tower. The price was right, and it was incredibly easy to set up, in fact, there was nothing to do but plug it in, go to your app, set up your Wi-Fi password and you’re good to go. It’s sleek and hooks up perfectly to my existing Simplisafe system. The cord is plenty long too! I highly recommend this product for indoor and outdoor use through a window. I think it’s a good security measure for any home, it’s versatile because I can use it as an indoor camera as well when I’m not at home. Right now, it just keeps an eye on my yard…

These Simplisafe cameras are the best! I already have the complete system. I just need to add a few more cameras. No adds! Easy to get to the video. High quality visual.

I purchased 2 video cameras. These are good additions to our existing SimpliSafe System and video doorbell which are already monitored. Setup was very easy just following the instructions. Video quality, night vision and field of view are quite good.

Pain in the butt to pair, because you have to approach it with the phone you're using for the QR code at the right angle, and the phone has to be far closer than the 1 foot they state. Took us an hour last night to get one of them to pair with our system. It took less time to pair the second one tonight, but we were trying everything in our arsenal to get it to pair. Once paired, though, the camera syncs up seamlessly with the rest of our system. We got these primarily to keep an eye on a sick pet while we're out of the house, and I appreciated it so much today while we were at work. I have it set fairly sensitively, so I can peek in whenever there's movement. It can lose connection fairly easily in the back of the house, but I'm looking into getting a repeater or something to keep the connection strong in other rooms.

We use these cameras to monitor the basement at a house on Cape Cod for flooding/leaks when we're not there during the winter. I also have one in the garage as we store a car there. We have 3 in our home on the West Coast, to monitor basement/garage door, back door, and inside the front door of the house in case of breakins. With full monitoring of both systems, we feel very confident in the image quality, night vision, and motion detection of these cameras. One complaint: they seem to lose their WiFi connection kind of easily if they're in a weaker part of your network signal. We installed an Eero mesh system at the Cape Cod house and now they cameras all work great.

The camera has good image quality. The motion detection works well, and you can adjust the sensitivity. The audio function isn’t the best and frequently my kids won’t hear me when I peak in and talk from work, or they say the sound is garbled and difficult to understand. You can disable the lights for more discrete recording, but the shutter makes this obvious clicking sound so people know even without the lights. The product is adequate, the service limitations are my issue. I have young kids and I bought extra cameras to place around the house to monitor them and the sitter when I work weekends. I intended this as a nanny camera so it would record the entire time I was away when it detected motion. However, when the camera detects motion it will record for a maximum of one minute even if motion continues after the minute. For an alarm it’s 3 minutes. That’s it. Hopefully the intruder doesn’t stay any longer than that, because if he’s there 20 minutes the camera kicks off after the first 3 minutes and nothing else is recorded. I chatted with customer service about the short video for a long time before they finally came out and admitted the limitations. The agent even said “continuous recording is not supported at this time” and “for continuous monitoring you may want to consider other security solutions that offer continuous recording capabilities.” I got the camera to record what’s going on with my children when I’m not in the house. If an accident or incident occurs then this system will probably not provide any record that can be later reviewed. Similarity, if you’ve got an abusive spouse and you’re trying to gather evidence for an impending custody battle, this system is also not for you. Explore other options for your security solutions.
