I’ve used SanDisk memory cards for years, and this 200GB Ultra was another one I picked up when I needed a good amount of extra storage without spending a lot of money.Yes, this is the older version, but that really doesn't bother me for the type of things I use it for. With 200GB of space, I have plenty of room for photos, videos, music, documents, and other files without constantly watching how much storage I have left.I also like that it comes with the full-size SD adapter. I don't always need it, but it’s nice to have when I want to move files to a computer or use the card with another compatible device.The advertised speeds are more than adequate for my everyday storage needs and Full HD video. If I were buying specifically for extremely high-bitrate 4K recording or another demanding professional application, I’d look at one of SanDisk’s faster cards. That isn't what I bought this one for.For regular expandable storage, it has been dependable and gives me a lot of capacity in something smaller than my fingernail.It may be the older generation, but 200GB is still 200GB. For everyday storage in a compatible device, this SanDisk Ultra continues to do exactly what I need it to do.

I’ve had this for a couple years now and it’s still going strong!This card ended up in a Nintendo switch, now known as the Nintendo switch one I guess.Transfer speeds are great functionality is perfect. Reliability is unbelievably good. I’ve never video recorded with it but it’s compatible with just about everything that I own that takes microSD cards. And now I’ve covered all the topics. Amazon wants me to talk about.That’s kind of funny when you buy something and improved versions come out with higher capacities and so on and so forth, and you see the price dropped to little or nothing on the one that you purchased for a lot of money way back when.Yep, I don’t care though. I got my moneys worth out of this and then some.I don’t expect them to last forever, no type of solid state, bubble memory, magnetic, or platter based memory ever does, not even PROMS OR EPROMS. But if you can get 40 or 50 years out of something that would be great but I think microSD cards are limited to five to twenty years, depending on the source.I doubt microSD cards will even last that long under regular use, but I got old EPROM chips that have, and I’ve got magnetic tape that has lasted even longer, and probably several disk-based media types items that already have or will.Does that mean that we’re going the wrong way? Are we going backwards?Yep! But this micro SD card is still highly recommended by mefor some strange reason. Oh yeah, because you need them now and can’t live without them!

For all the reviews saying the size isn't right (and thinking that means the cards are fake) you are not reading the description and you don't understand how hard drives, SSDs, flash drives, or memory cards are sold. This is an industry standard. Your computer reads things in multiples of 1,024... so 1,024 bytes is a KB, 1,024 KB is a MB... 1,204 MB is a GB, etc... But all drives are sold in multiples of 1,000. So if you buy a 512GB card, and do the math... device makers are saying that card is 512,000,000,000 bytes. But divide that by 1,024 and your operating system will see it as 476.84GB. Beyond that, you also lose a small percentage for the "file system" index on the drive. So you may see a few GB less even. In my case, I have a 256GB card, which shows up as 238GB, which is exactly as expected. The description on this listing explains this with the text:1MB=1,000,000 bytes. 1GB=1,000,000,000 bytes. 1TB=1,000,000,000,000 bytes. Actual user storage less.That explained, I tested my card's speed to see if it hits the 120MB/s ideal... not really. But marketing hype being what it is, I'm sure the "Speed up to 120/MB/s**" is in perfectly ideal conditions with specific readers and file sizes and the like... so my test of 93MB/s on a 10 year old USB 3 card reader with the SD adapter is acceptable to me. I think this should work fine on a soon to arrive Nintendo Switch for the kids. I'll update this review if any surprises come up that should be noted.
