Draw 500 Dazzling Doodles

I bought this hoping it would provide a jumping off point for me to create my own simple drawings. (I am an adult with no drawing skills looking to learn.) It is almost too simplistic and the drawings, to my eye, are kind of ugly. They aren't cute or whimsical, which I had expected by the cover. One page has a cloud shape filled with dots; that's it. Another page: 3 circles, each containing lines. Another page: an arrow. Another: the letters xoxo. Not sure how I'll use this. I bought The Art of the Doodle and Craft-a-Doodle at the same time and they are far more inspiring to me.

I wish I would have checked Amazon reviews before I purchased this (elsewhere), a little late now.....after the disappointment hit, I realized that normally I check reviews first before buying something like this online....there are a few cute pages a few cute doodles....out of the 500 in the book. So, yes, it's a lot of book for such a little amount of drawing. And, not something that I would normally draw/doodle. There is absolutely no instruction, it simply shows you some random doodle that I wouldn't even ever want to doodle, and then you're supposed to practice it. So, for every two pages, there are a few doodles, I'm assuming they all add up to 500 but as I said, I wouldn't even have an interest in attempting 98% of them. These are not dazzling to me in the least. I want to learn how to doodle better but this is not for that at all. The doodles on the front are the extent of the good stuff pretty much. I'm not sure who this would benefit really. Maybe some of the other options that are more specific would be better, like 500 on flowers or 500 on characters or 500 on animals, whatever. Those might be more helpful....whether they exist or not, I haven't looked. I'm just so disappointed. I'm sure this artist has talent, but it just isn't evident in this one. The last picture shows one of the few pages I liked.

Great book. Very helpful for people who would mike to draw, but don't know where to start.

What a rip off! Very small book, some pages just have one or two "doodles" on them (way to fill out pages!). The doodles are so so so simple that I don't even have words to describe this stupidity. Good paper quality, though.Seriously, this is a very subtle way to rip you off. The "doodles" if you can even call them that, are horrible. I wouldn't even give this to a child.

This little book is perfect for on the go doodling and note taking. Each page has a darling doodle that inspires more. Some are black and white and others are in color. My favorite page is one in yellow and gray. This would also make a fun journal.
