Great product; easy for first timer
Hi! This is going to be a long winded review, for whoever is shopping around for window film for the first time (like I was). The shopping process: I live on the first floor of a condo in a cold city, and I didn't want to keep my blinds down all the time. One, it made me feel like I was in a bunker; two, the blinds are a sad brown and don't close all the way; three, I have plants that like a bit of light. I was in the process of putting up winterization plastic wrapping on the windows, but then, (and I can't remember how) someone brought up window film with pretty designs. So, I went down a rabbit hole. On Reddit and elsewhere, people gave this brand Artscape excellent reviews. Even though I saw some gorgeous designs from other companies, I still went with this brand because I wanted a good first experience. They didn't let me down. I have a total of five windows upfront. I didn't want to cover the entire window with the film, just the bottom part. My windows slide up to open, and I just wanted that bottom half. In case I wanted some real light to shine in, when summertime comes. So, a total of 5 windows, with the glass pane being (just under) 38" by (just under) 39", I bought three rolls of this film. Three rolls were necessary mainly because of how I'd have to cut it, with how wide the rolls are. The film was delivered pretty quickly. It was a 3day Prime thing, but I didn't mind that at all. It didn't take forever, and so that was good. The application: So, applying the film. Be sure to clean your windows! For one, if you're hoping to have this on for a long period of time (like me), just go ahead and clean your windows. Secondly, it probably does wonders for how strong its "stickiness" is, and how long it will stick. As it says, it doesn't have adhesive. Which is amazing, I found out. After you've cut your squares/rectangles/circles/windows shapes down to size, you're going to need to wipe down the window with a bit of water. I just used a paper towel. But definitely make sure that your window is damp -not soaking, not slightly dry- definitely damp. That's how it sticks. Getting it lined up from top-to-bottom takes patience. For the first window, it took me a couple of tries. If it had adhesive, any further attempts would've been awful. Because it doesn't have adhesive, I just need to peel it off, re-damp the windows, and try again. The product comes with a plastic squigee (spelling?). It sounds aggressive on your window, but really get into it and scrape so that you get every itsy bitsy bubble out. How I did it, exactly: damp the window, line up the top, made sure the top part was line up and stuck, used the squigee to stick everything else and get all the bubbles out. Five windows: the measuring, the cutting, the cleaning, the applying... It all took me two hours. Really quick, in my opinion. End result: It looks amazing. First pictures are my "before"; second pictures are my "right after, but now the sun has set, womp womp"; and then my third pictures are my "after, next day, to maybe show them better". The design is incredible, and I feel will continue to make a complementary statement even if we decide to change the furniture or whatever. It has been a few days since I've applied, and no other bubbles have popped up. There has also been no peeling, that I've noticed. I'm curious to see if it stays sticky in the summer, with warmer temperatures. My windows are also single pane, simple windows. The thickness of this product is MUCH thicker than the winterization plastic wrap. Even though it doesn't cover the drafts/gaps in and around the windows, I swear it definitely helps the cold that seeps in through the glass itself. It has also cut down on the noise we get from outside. Also, the pattern itself is super translucent/foggy. Again, being on the first floor, a couple of my windows look straight at whoever is at the front door. Visitors often look inside to see if their friends are home ("were not your friends. You need to go upstairs"), and people from the other units also can't help but look inside. Our windows are Right.There. You can't help but look inside! So, with this film, it gives our place some MUCH NEEDED privacy. It's great. I've told my family about window film, and especially Artscape. I'd for sure recommend it to whoever is looking for privacy (without the need for ugly blinds to always be drawn down), and a *little* noise/draft-reduction.

Fav purchase of the year - buy it!!
So so impressed with this window film. I must have looked through a hundred of them before settling on this one & I couldn't be happier with my choice! I have a beautiful set of tall windows beside my front door, but they're incredibly easy to see through from the street (especially at night). I wanted something elegant that would give privacy without compromsing light, & this film is perfect! I really can't overstate how pretty it looks in person. The quality is amazing, & the raised texture refracts light beautifully & looks so realistic 💖 This was my first time working with privacy film, too, and the installation was SO easy. It only took me & my Fiancé about an hour to install both sides from cut to finish. I'd recommend having an extra set of hands to help pull the backing away as you squeegee the film down, but I think could have done it by myself if I had to (especially if you're working with a smaller window). Definitely follow the instructions and leave that extra little perimeter gap though, otherwise you'll have to do some extra cutting like me 😅 I've only had this window film installed for about a week, but it's made SUCH a huge difference in the vibe and privacy of my living room. Absolutely worth the money, and easily one of my most favorite amazon purchases of all time. If you're on the hunt for something high-quality, easy to install, and gorgeous, look no further!

FANTASTIC product
Can we have a 10 star review? If so, this would qualify. The art scape old English window film is absolutely a game changer. Not only was it easy to apply, it’s just simply gorgeous. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I have four glass window panes on my front door. This is the only door that has no privacy. I have a very cottage style home and wanted to keep with that look, which is why I chose the Old English pattern. It’s perfect! The material is a medium thick but pliable vinyl type product. If you follow the directions, you cannot mess this up. Simply measure, cut and apply. It was easy to cut and the directions say to use warm soapy water in a spray bottle to apply. If you need to move it around slightly, you can in order to make sure all your patterns lineup. I messed up on one of them and even though it was starting to dry, I was able to peel it up halfway re-spray and adjust. It clings to the window the way it’s supposed to. Squeegee the excess soapy water, and you are done. It is the perfect answer for my privacy needs as it allows the natural light in and distorts the inside of my home. The further away you are the more private it is but even up close it does its job perfectly. Since I’m not a numbers person, I literally used ChatGPT to figure out how to get the most precise cuts based on the size I purchased and how many pieces I needed. I have plenty left over! That’s just a bonus. I highly, highly recommend Artscape window films if you’re looking for functional and decorative privacy.

Perfect for North facing rooms!
The good: easy to apply, absolutely gorgeous! I’ve had this up for a couple of years now, I’ve taken it down a couple of times for spring cleaning and painting. I just quickly clean the film with window cleaner and reapply per original instructions. The bad: none, aside from the cost. Unless you’re like me, and tried every curtain and window covering there is, and hated them all! I would have saved so much time and money if I just bought these in the first place! My kitchen faces North, and can feel kind of dreary, especially if I block any natural light with curtains. Also, I have neighbors about a stone’s throw away, so we needed something for privacy. These block everything so very well, and look stunning at night when lit up by kitchen window Christmas lights! From outside at night, you can see that someone is standing at the sink, but you cannot see who, or even tell what they’re wearing. So just very blurry colors. Having lights around them helps diffuse the person, and place highlight on the details of the window cling itself. This company also offers other patterns, and they provide information on the level of privacy each pattern provides. I would recommend going by that, because I have this in bathroom as well, but it kind of sleeves me out, so I’ll be changing that one to a colorful, higher privacy option. I’ll order from this company again, because the quality is unmatched! The film is so thick that I think it may even help with temperature regulation, but I haven’t tested this. Also for what’s it worth, people always tell me that our windows are so pretty :-D

Fantastic!
I purchased the Artscape Old English Window Film 92 x 183 cm because I had a set of perfectly clear glass doors out onto a sun porch that I’m using as a temporary catch all as I unpack the moving boxes. It’s right off of the living room and I hated looking out at the junk, but I wanted the light. For a while I made do with some of that clear Gallery Glass faux stained glass stuff, and while it was fine it wasn’t quite formal enough for my tastes. (On panes that large it looked a bit like a shower door, not the vibe I was going for. You can see it in the photos in the lower panes before I peeled it off.) My requirements were moderately obnoxious: it had to be cheap, clear with dark “leading,” stay in place once applied, but still be easily removable, look appropriate to my 1910 home, and be fairly authentic in appearance. That’s a lot to ask of some plastic. I went over and over and over the possibilities, and though this was a bit pricey compared to many, it is by far the best. A truly outstanding product. The vinyl is heavy and strong, comes rolled (not folded and creased as some other brands seem to) and even includes a little squeegee tool to press out air bubbles. Once up it looks pretty darn real, and you must actually be right up on it to tell that it’s merely vinyl, and even then it’s only the leading that gives it away. It really is very convincing. It even seems to refract light ever so slightly, as though it were real glass. As for privacy, it obscures but does not obstruct. I would not use it in a bathroom or bedroom and expect privacy, but if you want to meander around in your jammies it should be fine for that. Someday I hope to have real leaded glass installed but that will be a long time from now, and I am very pleased with this in the meantime. Make sure that you check and recheck your measurements, and remember that it is centimeters, not inches. You’ll not get more than one or two windows per roll, so factor that in when planning. I did the doors you see here and had enough to do a 29x39 plate glass window in the adjacent dining room (with a little judicious fiddling), making it look even more authentic, as though they were part of the house originally. It’s been up 6 months and is still rock solid. Excellent choice. I recommend it!

Great product
Yes, these can be a little tedious to apply but once you get the hang of it, the results are amazing!! Honestly not bad to cut, just recommend if you need to cut, cut it on the sides that won’t be seen just in case you mess up a little (i did the top and outer sides, as it’s hidden by my curtains). This product is way better than some of the cheaper options, too. I have those in my other room and this one just looks more realistic. Looks so good, provides privacy, and think i might buy some stained glass paint to add a pop of color to the design. Picture is of the first side so you can see a comparison of before/after.

My new favorite privacy film
This product is fantastic. We needed some privacy as our bedroom windows are facing our neighbors house, but didn't want to sacrifice light and have the curtains drawn all day. Definitly easy to put up for a beginner. Because its thicker, it makes handling significantly easier than the thinner options, for both cutting and installing. Bubbles were super easy to remove with a squeegee, just make sure you spray the window down really good with water/soap mixture. You really dont need to worry about spraying too much because the squegee will remove any excess, so if it's your first time really soak it and you will have a ton of wiggle room to get it adjusted properly. I had a couple spots with bubbles that were hard to get, if that happens you can just peel up the closest edge til you reach the bubble, re-spray, and squeegee out. I used a knockdown texture knife as a squegee and it worked great. If you dont have something make sure to buy it because this product doesnt come with anything. Because its so thick, I was actually able to cut it very slightly larger than the window and wiggle it up into the crack between the glass and vinyl, so its a really seamless look. Finished product looks amazing, extremely high quality, and i get so many compliments. I've had up since August (6 months), so these have been through both summer and winter with absolutely no issues at all, no peeling. I was hesitant to spend this much on window film, but as a super budget conscious person I can say this is 100% worth it.

Looks great!
Love it! Put it on a corner window where you can't fit blinds or curtain and now I wish my window was actually stainglass. It is the perfect solution and adds a great feeling to the room.
