Maintaining Your Leather Shoes!
Allen Edmonds Men’s Combination Cedar Wood Shoe Tree is a must-have for anyone who wants to maintain the shape and quality of their leather shoes. These shoe trees are easy to use and work seamlessly with your shoe care routine. The shoe trees are made from high-quality cedar wood and are designed to provide a comfortable and secure fit. They are adjustable and can be used with a variety of shoe sizes and styles. Using shoe trees has many benefits, including: Maintaining the shape of your shoes: Shoe trees help to maintain the shape of your shoes and prevent them from developing creases or wrinkles. Absorbing moisture: Cedar wood is a natural moisture absorber and helps to keep your shoes dry and fresh. Preventing odors: Cedar wood has a natural fragrance that helps to prevent odors and keep your shoes smelling fresh. I personally use Allen Edmonds Men’s Combination Cedar Wood Shoe Tree in my Redwing Moc Toe Boots. They have helped me to maintain the shape and quality of my boots and have prevented them from developing creases or wrinkles. They also help to dry out any moisture that accumulates in the boots after a long day of wear. Overall, I highly recommend Allen Edmonds Men’s Combination Cedar Wood Shoe Tree to anyone who wants to maintain the quality of their leather shoes. They are a high-quality product that is affordable and easy to use.

Great for my boots
I use these for a size 11.5 EEE Grant Stone Diesel and they fit in them great. They support the toe of the boot really well and help reduce the appearance and severity of the creases on the toe box. They are super easy to use. The wood smells great and helps to get moisture out of the inside of the boot as well. I didn't realize how necessary a set of shoe trees was for a pair of leather boots until after I had them, and these have been great for my boots.

Fine
Why did you pick this product vs others?: The badges with the AE logo smeared gold paint all over the place. Thru don't strike me as meeting the same high standards as AE's shoes. I assume they just buy generic trees from some manufacturer and slap their name on them. Some alcohol cleaned it right up, though, so it's hard to be too upset. Otherwise, they are decent shoe trees. They seem to be cedar, smell nice, she aren't too rough or splintered. $25 seems a little steep for these in 2025, so I'd recommend getting them on sale if possible.

Who makes a video for shoe trees??
YOU: Really, you made a video? ME: I did. YOU: Why? ME: Because I can. Shoe trees are simple. They keep the form of your shoe, suck up damaging moisture, and leave a nice smell. The invention has not changed much over the years. PROS: Strong cedar smell and a solid design. Great price and has Prime shipping. CONS: None unless you wait too long and mistreat your shoes! Why spend a hundred (or more) dollars on nice shoes then slack on upkeep? I needed a few more shoe trees because I have purchased more shoes and my only shoe tree (with a cameo appearance in the video) had lost its smell. These shoe trees are notable because the ends have a hook instead of a string and they have the split toe design. I am indifferent with the hook. The split toe is nice because the shoe trees can be inserted into a variety of shoes. I have a pair of loafers that are shorter but wider than the shoes in the video and this shoe tree fits fine (a little better than my older split toe shoe tree). Initially, I picked up two sets. I was pleased enough that I ordered another two pairs. UPDATE 11/2013: Hmmm...you wonder, how does that nice cedar wood smell after six months in your shoes? There is still a faint cedar smell (nowhere near as strong as when they arrived but it's still there). I rotate between wearing two main pairs of dress shoes and another less formal pair (worn no more than once a week). A combination of these shoe trees, regular shining, and the rotation has kept my shoes in pretty nice condition. I'm not easy on my shoes---I walk between 30-60 minutes each day between work and home (I'm in a walkable urban area) and I have put new soles on all 3 pairs of shoes. At the start of this year, I thought I would need several new pairs of shoes. I tend to think these shoe trees saved my dress shoes by returning their form, removing some creases, and extending their lifetimes. Maybe it's just because I started taking better care of the shoes. Either way, don't need to buy new ones too soon so I'm happy! UPDATE 1/2013: I have been meaning to try out the sanding trick and update this post (thanks to the commenters!). Sanding works a little. The smell is (faintly) better but it is not nearly as strong as when the shoe trees first arrived. Perhaps the products had a cedar oil sprinkled on them initially. One set of them still smell better (without being sanded) than the others (that have been sanded) so it could also be hit or miss on the item. Regardless, the shoe trees are serving their main purpose of absorbing moisture and maintaining the form of the shoes to reduce wrinkles. For that, I remain happy!

Shoe trees work for boots too
Due to an ankle injury, I've been wearing hiking boots as daily footwear. I wanted to use some shoe trees to maintain them, and these fit the bill. The large version fits my size 11.5 hiking boot well. They go in easily, and I'm assuming that they'll have the same Allen Edmonds quality that I'm accustomed to from wearing their shoes for over a decade.

Well Made, Long Lasting
Well made, ages well having had multiple over years. Keeps my leather shoes in good condition. These could have helped saved my previous leather boots that I severely neglected.

You may need to size up - Good construction though
These Allen Edmonds branded shoe trees are much shorter than my other Allen Edmonds large shoe trees. I purchased two pairs and they both exhibited the problem. I wear a size 12D in Allen Edmonds shoes (meaning, the most normal average size 12 there is) and the sizing chart for the trees shows that they should work fine. However they just slide into my shoes with no resistance or tension whatsoever. Comparing them with my older pair they don't extend out quite as far. (See the images I added to my review.) The good: These do appear to be constructed from red cedar and are made well. My old pair are stamped "Made in USA" and the new ones say "Crafted in USA" on the box and are stamped "USA". I just love the aroma of cedar. I'm going to be returning these and buying the XL version. As shoe trees I think they'll be fine once I get ones that fit properly. I have to deduct two stars, though, simply because this sizing issue shouldn't happen.

Good value but …
For around £20 these are good value for cedar shoe trees and fit my size 10.5 trainers well but if you have expensive shoes I would recommend getting some with a more solid construction quality - unsurprisingly at the price these are a bit flimsy. Also I recommend dusting these off before inserting into shoes as I found that the wood left a fine dust in my shoes.
