Crystal Body Deodorant, Rock, 5 Ounce

I've now had this product for over a year and haven't gone through even half of it despite using it daily. When I bought this product, I was in search of a deodorant that didn't produce as much plastic waste as traditional deodorants. Before this, I had been trying Aromaco from Lush. This worked fine. I felt like it worked at about 75% of the Dove deodorant I had been using to get rid of sweat odors. I always smelled a bit, and it seemed like the product relied heavily on fragrances to hide the extra 25% of sweat smell. I didn't love it, but it seemed like this was just what to expect from the more natural deodorants available in less packaging. When researching deodorants with less packaging, this Lush deodorant was the one that many people seemed to compare to as the gold standard, so I didn't have high hopes to find one that I really liked.This crystal body deodorant was one of many I tried, hoping to find a product that worked better. To be honest, I hadn't really expected for it to work much at all. This product surprised me greatly. I was left without any sweat smell all day, and as an exciting bonus, it doesn't leave residue on clothing or even on my armpits. When wearing this deodorant, my armpits feel like I don't have any deodorant on at all and I don't have to worry about smelling sweaty at all. I have old shirts that have stains left in the armpits from old deodorants, which isn't something I have to worry at all about anymore. Conventional deodorants now disgust me.Some caveats, for me it is a plus that this product has no smell. I don't like the fragrances in most body products. This one has none, which for some people might be a con. It doesn't rely on fragrances to mask the smell of sweat.This product isn't an antiperspirant. It doesn't prevent you from sweating, it just prevents smell.Does this product hold up with strenuous exercise? The answer is that it is better than many deodorants, but not the best.When purchasing this product, I didn't expect to find a deodorant that I would like better than traditional deodorants.

In todays world of chemical oversaturation, it's nice to find a safe alternative that actually works. In fact this works better than most and as well as any deodorants/antiperspirants I've tried.I normally don't need deo, but use this during hot summer and over-dressed winter months and my 'rock' is 3 years old and still looks the same size. I use as directed and do not allow to sit in water and it seems like this could last forever...I just bought a second for backup.Zero pit stink, zero scent. Done! I wish everything could be this simple.

The effectiveness of this crystal deodorant is amazing. As I'm aging, my old deodorant just wasn't doing it. I try to be conscious of chemicals I'm putting on my body, so because of that, I decided to try this natural option. I love this product! The little shell-like cup that it comes with to store it is awesome and I keep it on the bathroom counter. This crystal lasts a really long time and a great value.

An okay product

I've been using these for YEARS and they LAST FOR YEARS. The only time I need to buy a new one is when I drop it on the floor and it breaks.They don't stain the clothes or add any artificial scent, don't irritate the skin, and cost less than $0.01/day. What else do you want.

...this crystal deodorant is so kool to use and I've been using it for more than 20 yrs...there are others for sale , similar in look...but they aren't the same...rock deodorant simply shows up like a big piece of rock candy...simple...with a small dish for it...

This somehow works better than the roll-on equivalent. I used this for 2 weeks, then stopped using it because my armpits were super irritated. When I stopped using it, I started to stink again. So I guess it works!When you apply the salt cube, it exfoliates because little salt crystals get left behind. I don’t think this would be a problem for men/unshaved pits, but as a woman, this especially irritated my armpits 1-3 days after I shaved. It’s like rubbing salt into a wound; literally. It’s just too painful to continue using.The little tray broke immediately. It’s pretty useless. I’ll just use a little ceramic dish.

After running out recently, I purchased a different type of salt based deodorant and used it for a few weeks but the other day I actually smelled myself. Nope.It had been a while since I purchased just the chunk of salt, since these last such an incredibly long time (the last was about 7 years), that I thought its effectiveness was just my imagination. So I switched to a roll-on version - in a plastic applicator - that was smooth, lavender scented, and I thought it would work at least as well. Fail.I'm back to the simple and effective salt chunk because it never, ever fails me. I've tested it while working in my shed, mowing my lawn, going the whole weekend without showering, and I still smell pretty dang good. It never stains my clothing, it lasts for years, and as long as I don't have tiny nicks or cuts in my armpits, it doesn't sting. But even if it does, it goes away pretty quickly.I'll never use applicator roll-on again, which was such a waste of plastic anyway.
