This is the best. Don't scrimp on your tools and you won't be sorry.
No vacuum leaks. The cheap ones I bought before all were unnecessary trouble. Should have bought this one instead of wasting time and effort because of those cheap ones I had bought before. This is one of those items where you really need to buy the best tools or else you'll cuss about trying to find leaks you shouldn't have. This is the best tool that you really need, you'll forget that it cost more than the others anyway. Buy this one.

Nice core removal tool!
Very well built. All the connections seem to seal. Functions smoothly. Should last awhile

Remove that valve core!
Very good quality tool, a must have for a mini split install or repair. You must remove that valve core to get a good deep vacuum. And in my case, I also had a leaky valve core, I had to replace that valve core. This tool made the job easy.

A work of mechanical art
These are quality parts, but I found that the 'pink' anodized section was a bit fat for the Daikin unit and I had to do some weird stuff to make it fit, but apparently I am not alone. I saw there were 'sleeker' units out their but they didn't seem as well built as this. I put these through some abuse (I have more than one), and they are reliable and durable and they just look cool. They definitely close off the connection well with the ball valve. They seal well and they really do let you replace the valve stem without leaking vacuum or refrigerant.

Really helps get the micron reading down
As other reviews have stated it is a little bit of trial and error to get the tool fully engaged on the schrader core. Otherwise the tool works great and no leaks (most important feature). My problem was on a new 454B install Mr. Cool where I couldn't get it down below 500 microns even after vacuuming for an hour, nitrogen purging, repeating, etc. Pulling the schrader cores and using a 6CFM JB pump it pulled to a steady 250 microns in about 15min. IMO a core tool of some kind is really essential on these newer systems for a quality install.

Finally something that holds a vacuum for mini split
I needed this to vacuum a mini split. After trying cheap ones that didn't say vacuum rated, and even ones that were vacuum rated, this was the only one that both held a vacuum well, and we able to remove / insert the valve stem without any difficulties. It costs a lot more than the cheaper alternatives but those simply won't hold enough of a vacuum to vacuum your mini split

This is the valve core removal tool to get
As a consequence of installing a pre charged condenser heat pump system, a valve core removal tool is a key element needed for the setup of the system. It is used with a pressurized nitrogen source to test the line set installation for leaks, and also with a vacuum pump to evacuate the line set prior to adding refrigerant. I initially attempted to perform the tests with similar cheaper devices, but I discovered that there were vacuum leaks with one, and un-reliable shrader valve capture with another. Save your time and get the Appion one, which is also the choice of many pros.
