KASTLITE 12" Clear Acrylic Lamp Post Globe with 3.91" Fitter Neck

Very nice and a very nice thickness. It was clear and beautiful. If you looking for one for a madam leota , that styrofoam head wont fit as is. I was determined tho and shaved it down to make it fit. I needed a bigger opening. None the less, I made it work and it was great.

Perfect for my cosplay! I have a pretty small head, so it is a smidgen large looking proportionally, but it works perfect for the nuka cola girl cosplay I am working on. this would also be just the right size for a space ranger (buzz lightyear) suit, so I definitely plan on getting at least one more of these domes. a custom cut 8.5" diameter opening was actually perfect for my needs, my head measures 22" circumference at the largest. The rim of the hole doesn't even make contact with the back of my head, ears, or tip of my nose when I put the dome on my head; It wasn't too large of an opening either. if you have a larger than average head, definitely consider using a larger dome and a slightly larger custom opening, but this is the perfect size for a typical mysterio, space ranger, etc cosplay for average or smaller sized heads.

The ball was the perfect size as stated. Clear and with scratches. Delivered promptly. Would ordered again and recommend to others.

This is my first time purchasing an acrylic globe like this so it was hard to gauge expectations based on the sellers photos (or rather virtual representations) of the product. I was hoping for something acrylic that would pass as glass for a vintage lamp that required very specific dimensions (this was the only thing close i could find). I’m now left with a “guess this will have to do” feeling. The globe arrived in a couple plastic bags that had me thinking “oooh this going to be nice and clean and shiny.” Instead i unbagged it to find a nice 1” long scratch and the globe filled with remnants from the custom hole cut (blow this out before sending maybe?). The hole itself was not smooth either and the ends of the cut do not meet. I also can see this being an unavoidable part of manufacturing, but the bubbly dot on top (not centered on top btw) was an unexpected eyesore. I feel bitter because i purchased something i thought would be impeccable and am stuck with something less so because it is non-returnable/refundable because of custom cut. I could see this being ok for outdoor lighting, but beware if you are looking for something amazing up close.

To be honest I did not purchase this acrylic globe with any intention of using it on a street lamp. I intended to use it to make a faux Japanese fishing float lamp similar to what you will find hanging from the lobby ceiling of Disney's Polynesian Resort. These globes are a large diameter (12") and extremely lightweight making it the perfect combination. Also since these already have a hole for a street lamp bulb you don't need to drill/hole saw to make an opening. Just need to apply either Krylon Stained Glass or Sea glass spray paint and then add netting + bulb. $32 for a 12" globe is an excellent price point and a real fish float of that size would cost upwards of $200.

DANGEROUS!!! I purchased four of the clear globes in July 2025. Loved them! Today, after approximately 11 months of use, one of the clear globes directed the bright sunlight onto my mulch powerfully enough that the mulch caught fire 🔥!! Fortunately a neighbor happened to be outside and doused the fire. I was not there at the time. Could have been a disaster. BEWARE!!

These globes have a quite visible nipple on the very top or bottom, depending on how you mount it. I suppose if the globe is mounted on a post it would be fine as the bump would not show but as a pendant it doesn't cut the muster. To be fair, the listing does call it a lamp post globe and doesn't mention pendants. I should have contacted the seller I suppose.
