3 Pack 12x24 Inch Heavy Duty Grout Mortar Bags with Tip-Blue

I was skeptical on how well these bags would hold up and how easy they would be to use. I have done some minor tuck pointing here and there but this item is a game changer. They make the mortar go exactly where you want it. No sloppy dribbles or messy mix being spilled. The trick is to make sure the mix is just a little bit on the wet side. Not a lot or it just pours out the opening. Make sure you fold the bag on the wide end multiple times so the mix doesn't come out that end.

We're installing 2,000 sq. ft. of flagstone flooring, so have a lot of joints to fill with mortar. We bought these bags after a friend recommended using instead of the scoop-and-pour approach. Not only is using these bags faster and easier, but less refills needed than with the scooping and less clean-up (which takes a lot of time and can be finicky if the mortar has settled after a couple of minutes). We did have to cut the tip (we cut the supporting blue tip off entirely) as we needed a large enough opening for the mortar to flow. It took a few batches for us to find our flow in using the bag--- but pinching the end and letting the mortar come out in small bursts has worked well. Sticking the dispensing end right into the joint also allows the mortar to rise up from the bottom, creating a nicer effect at the top than pouring straight from the top. These bags are well-made of a canvas, coated in a waterproof vinyl/plastic. The blue tip is a bit rigid but could be very useful for different mortar mixes or finer joints. We've done about 1,000 sq. ft. re-using just one bag so far, and it's still in great shape so will likely last us until the job is completed. It rinses fairly clean as well. One modification that I might make is to cut a couple of finger holes/slots at the very top to help hold/grip the bag at the top. While wearing gloves (and dispensing mortar for a few hours), the hand holding the bag at the top can get pretty tired (admittedly, we are putting about 2.5 gallons of mortar in each time).

Bought three different devices to inject mortar into space between flagstone rocks on vertical plane. None worked including this one unless you make the mix with such low viscosity the mix will fall off wall. For these bags they are nice quality but you end up force water out of mix that leaves a dry paste that cannot be squeezed through the tube. Recommend a different device that uses a feed auger to move the mix. If you keep high water content high this should work but that will not work if using on vertical wall.

No idea how the tip on this garbage bag could be so perfect that liquid consistency concrete would not flow through it. After repeated attempts, I was left with $20 in lost materials and another $100 in the filler used for a repair. Everything mixed and ready to go. You get ONE size tip and you won't know until you use it that the tip will NOT allow anythign tp flow through it. Must be clogged right? Nope, poke through it again and again. its like the entire bag is designed to never allow enough pressure to work and to clog instantly. I am left with a ruined poject, not ONE DROP of material flowed out and over $100 in lost equipment and aggravation. Pewrfect deign too. there is no way to return it so you lose all your money/ Absiolutely horrendous product that is clearly design for cake frosting not liquid mortar. Abolutely horrible. Wish I could give it 20 - stars and you will too. do not ever buy this horrible toy.

Exactly as described! We used the kit to help us with grouting our newly installed brick wall. It was fantastic and made the job so much easier.

Used for pointing a 60ft garden wall some joints were deep for best results use toupret external masonry filler it has no depth limit but it mixes like double cream and goes on a treat use have about 10 mins before curing so I did about 5ft wall per mix, then you can use the pointing tool to tidy up wash out bags on every use. I didn’t use the metal nozzles as the the water in the mix goes in between. I tried it first with a fine building cement mix but it doesn’t work I had some success when I mixed it quite wet but even then the water squeezes out before it hits the joints. But when I used toupret external masonry filler it works a treat because it like a fine powder and sets like rock you can even sand it after if you have gone over just thought I’d share my experience Brush out loose parts with a brush and and I brushed on a sealer as the joints were a bit sandy. I wet the inside of the bag then loaded it like a quarter then twist the filling end I did the the horizontal first the the vertical the detailed with the tool

I was using one of the bags I brought the grout up some 20mm bluestone pavers with a 5mm grout gap. Bag was going great until it split open on the seam, started to use another bag and by the end of the grouting that to started to give way at the seam. Area I had to grout was only 60m2 and the pavers were 800mm x 400mm so not that many lines.. bags need to be reinforced along the seams.

Very large bags. The only issue I had was if the mortar a little too thick the bag seam would split under pressure. Keep bags clean after few fill ups to keep mortar easy too use. 3 x bags with tools.
