I use this every time I start going through a lot of reflux. It is the only thing that helps. It doesn’t taste super great. It kind of reminds me of liquid plastic, but it stops the suffering from reflux.

I hated the mint flavor until I tried the cherry. The cherry has a very plastic taste to it, barely cherry, you just taste plastic. So I’m back to mint. It’s like drinking toothpaste but it works. I have bad acid reflux sometimes and this is the only thing that works and works fast. It is the only antacid that makes that barrier layer to prevent the acid from coming up. I first tried this as an AI suggestion one night when I was about to go to the emergency room because I couldn’t take the severe burning anymore. I felt like I swallowed lit matches, it was that bad. Within 30 min I was feeling better and was finally able to get some rest. I swear by this now and always have it on hand.

I got this due to an illness with Gerd and have found it to be successful in most cases where I’ve suffered acid reflux. So much better than liquid antacids and that this is a thick peppermint tasting product that helps to coat your throat and stomach and actually function to help stop acid reflux.

I suffer from BURNING intense heartburn frequently. I was given some of this in the ER several years ago.. got a bottle for home. I get anxiety if I run out because my heartburn is excruciating. Taste is not the greatest but it’s SO WORTH IT!

Pharmacist here. I use Gaviscon for acid reflux because it contains aluminum hydroxide and magnesium carbonate. I used to use Mylanta, but they changed their formula to include calcium carbonate. The carbonate neutralizes the acid, but calcium mediates the release of more acid into the stomach. So, you need to use more and more of it to keep neutralizing the extra acid it pumps into your stomach. This is called acid rebound. I was glad to find that Gaviscon still uses a formula that doesn’t cause acid rebound.
