Excellent tablet at a very affordable price point
I replaced a broken Acer Iconia One 7 with this Galaxy A7 Tab and they are in a different league in both build quality and performance. The high definition screen on this Samsung is stunning and the speakers pack a very decent punch. The Atmos surround effect is nice through the quad speakers and the sample music track that comes on the tablet shows the effect off really well. The speakers fire out from the edge so you can use it on any surface without muffling the sound. There's two different app stores on the tablet because it's got both Google Play and Samsung's own app store. In the Samsung one there's a plethora of exclusive offers and free apps for the tablet. Battery life seems great so far too, it is quite large though so takes some time to charge with the supplied adaptor. I may try my Anker Qualcomm certified quick charge adaptor with it next time. There was quite a lot of updates for the tablet to install after setting it up, including an Android 10 security patch for Android released in December 2020. The Samsung Home screen is okay but I wish they'd offer a scrambled PIN login screen like LineageOS features. Also, in landscape mode the login number pad is a little uncomfortably small on the screen. I have tried sending this information to Samsung but won't hold my breath over them acting on it. Material wise, it's an all metal chassis and feels weighty but is comfortable to hold because it is so thin. I have a JML Pill-O-Pad which I have been using it on though and it fits on that perfectly. The only minor annoyance is the MicroSD card slot is next to redundant for anything other than portable media storage (music, video, photo etc. from PC and tablet content backup using Samsung Switch). You cannot format it as internal storage, Samsung have set the tablet up to prevent this. With 32GB (around 10GB of which is used by the operating system) it means you will eventually have to be a little selective over what apps, downloaded movies, books etc. you keep on the tablet.

Ideal for me, nice size screen
This is the first tablet I have even owed that's not a Kindle Fire. I wanted the new Fire 10 for it's larger screen, but due to finances I had to settle with something else. I goggled the top 10 tablets of 2023 and this A7 was number 3 in that list due to it's price and specs. The A8 was number 2. I'm not really one for games, so didn't need the bells and whistles for that aspect, I mainly listen to music, watch boxsets or the odd film, or listen to podcasts while I'm cross stitching, lol. It's also useful for marking of charts through pattern keeper. I have it attached to my Lowery Stand via the chart holder attachment and my own custom made chart board. For me this is ideal, the larger screen is a godsend, the old Fire being the 7 inch one. The size fits perfectly on my setup, it has a headphone port which for me is essential as well, as my headphones aren't bluetooth and I'm also picky about my headphones, it's hard to find a pair that doesn't hurt my ears - the pair I use are wired so I needed the port. At the time of purchase it was on sale, the price should have been £220, if that was the case I wouldn't have been able to afford it, so the timing for the sale was just right, lol. It's updated itself to Android 12 along with a few pre-installed apps which I've just left on anyway, like Netflix which I have an account and Spotify which I use for my podcasts. I installed Disney+ and Amazon Prime through the Play store with no problems (all this is new to me, lol) and the one game I do play odd occasions, Hidden City. The tablet is very fast compared to the Fire, I'm usually waiting for it to load stuff, or the sound like skips sometimes, but with this A7 I have had no such problems. For my own personal requirements, I couldn't be happier with this tablet. I haven't used it to it's full potential, I haven't had it long and still finding my way around, like I said I've never had a tablet like this before, but I've installed a micro card from the old Fire to the A7, this just wanted to be formatted and away it went and it's also capable of linking to your phone so you can call and send texts on it - this is probably old news to some, but I didn't know you could do that, lol. Not like I would use that function, but impressed it's there, lol. So 5 stars here from me and I would highly recommend to others.

Responsive with a good connection
I'd bought this tablet because of the positive reviews here and outwith Amazon.I use this whilst i'm bed with blue tooth headphones that connected fast which i'm pleased with. The sound quality is good with the headphones but have not listened to it more than a few minutes without,so cant say much about that.To me the screen quality is good and so is the battery life.I dont intend to clog this tablet up with apps not only because I dont use a lot of apps but because you can only store apps with the 64gb internal memory.I purchased an internal memory card for everything else. The touchscreen is very responsive although I have yet to try it with a screen protector. As far as the wireless connection is concerned, its good in my experience as sometimes there is a problem with the signal in my bedroom. I've got to say that i'm not very tech savvy but overall I am pleased with this tablet and it was at the right price for me rather than buying something more expensive that I just do not need.

Powerful 'budget' gaming & entertainment tablet
I bought this to replace a worn out lenovo which I primarily used as an android gaming device, as well as the occasional movie watching. The technology for most budget tablets is slow to make progress compared to smartphones. Most under £100 still have slow ancient quad core chips, 16gb of memory, 1gb of ram and dim screens with poor viewing angles, as well as tinny sounding mono speakers. Or there's the passable amazon fire models which are ok for casual users or kids, but you're locked into their ecosystem and can't get Google play store without fiddling about. Basically if you want some half-decent performance from your tablet, it is worthwhile spending the extra money on more acceptable hardware. But not silly money on flagship tech, there is a middle ground! Therefore, I was pleased to see Samsung have updated their offering a fairly speedy octa core with 3gb of ram. This is a lot for a budget tablet considering the lack of hardware enthusiasm from other brands. There is only one other brand which is fair competition and that's lenovo. I will admit I tried their M10 first, I usually prefer the clean stock android experience they provide, but I returned it due to a fault. I'm glad I purchased this Samsung A7 instead. It certainly has a more premium feel upon using it. Personal preference but I'm not a fan of Samsung's One UI so I did install Nova launcher for a more enjoyable user experience. This tablet is fast. Scrolling through social media is a breeze. Video playback is instant and smooth. The screen is bright, sharp and responsive, as I have come to expect from Samsung screens. The quad atmos speakers are surprisingly decent even when turned up loud. It handles games well. The only limitation being the 32gb of internal storage, so don't expect to be able to download bulkier games. The games you can fit on it run extremely well, it is capable of running detailed 3d game worlds. Also in your standard android puzzle games, the loading times are noticeably quicker and the visuals are bright and colourful. To conclude, this is a good piece of hardware. Yes it's more expensive and creeping towards more mid-range than budget, but given the state of other tablet hardware available, it is the best bang-for-buck choice available at the moment if you can stretch your budget to it.

Hands down the best tablet in its price range!
Delighted with this purchase, have to say for the price of this device compared to others in the market it has to be one of if not the best currently. The quality of the build is amazing and the speed of it is great, the battery life is insane I’ve had Netflix/YouTube streaming for my child constantly and can last a 2/3 days without having to charge. The only downside is probably the internal memory as almost 10GB is used after setup but that is the same with any new phone or smart devices.. also it’s not so much of a problem her though as can use external memory cards which can’t be done with Apple products.. before purchasing I had done my research and watched many comparison videos, and I can tell you everytime this tablet came out on top! You won’t be disappointed with this tablet because you get next to top tier for a fraction of the price!!

Good one
I had to change from a low budget generic android 8 tablet to this. The difference is wide. The Samsung A7 promises and delivers for the right price. Battery life is super. I slept of by 12 midnight with my wifi on and the tablet at 99%. Woke up 5 hours later to find it at 98%. It's much faster than my previous device and more responsive too. Be careful when opening the MicrosD card slot with the pin hole. The pin provided is small compared to the force required to eject it. I had to use my wife's earring. I learnt from reviews that this is common with Samsung devices. It is still my first day of using it. Smart switch is lovely and allows for seamless transfer of data from your old device Maybe I'll be back later. Dolby Atmos is 👍👌👏. Lovely sound production even with Bluetooth ear phones

Worked great!
Bought for my son. The size of it was great with a 11 inch screen it looked very premium. Ofcourse when you first buy the tablet the UI is fast but as the years go on it does start to slow down but im sure it happens with all their budget friendly tablet range. The build felt very premium. And im pretty sure you’d want a screen protector and a cover for it, for extra protection. Storage was good and with samsung you have the option of adding a SD card.
