Vornado 660 Whole Room Air Circulator

I chose the Vornado 660 because it was supposed to be very quiet, and I was not disappointed. On low speed (spec's say 400 rpm and 33 dB), it is by far the quietest fan I every used, comparable to a microwave oven without the hum. I run it at night. It doesn't keep me awake like the old fan did. It also blows a surprising amount of air on low speed which can be felt a good 12 feet away. The only criticisms are: no remote control and the buttons are a bit odd. There is a "power" button and four "speed" buttons. You first press the power button which always turns the fan on high (a memory would be nice) and them you change the speed with the other buttons. Pressing the power button again turns it off. I also would have preferred if the buttons were on the base instead of the top since we leave it on a tall dresser. But it is a "whole room" fan so I guess others will put it on the floor and for that it would work fine. It is well built and has a 5-year warranty so I hope it will last a good long time.

Love it! It really does circulate the air in the room to keep things feeling cool. It keeps our main floor feeling cool and fresh. It helps reduce the need for A/C in the summer, and is a great supplement on those hot and humid days. Quality build, sturdy. Recommended!

I bought this fan 7 years ago during one hot summer and I have been using it ever since.This is a fantastic air circulator and you can really feel the room getting cooler with it on. It pushes air in a focused way that fans don't. There are 4 fan speeds and I find myself mostly using the 2nd speed because the max speed sounds like a hurricane.There are also a few screws holding the grill in place so you can easily take it apart for cleaning the blades.Overall one of my more worthwhile purchases for sure.
