I wanted a hoak to cook in my wok with, but as I use a 12" wok, I didn't want a restaurant-size 16 or 17" one, which would be too bulky and cumbersome. This fits my needs just fine. About 12" long. The bowl is nice and big, big enough to perfectly fit the curvature of a grapefruit. Great for the fast, efficient single utensil style of cooking – no chuan/spatula – that many Chinese restaurant cooks favor. Angle of the handle is a little steep, but it doesn't seem to be a problem. If I do decide I want it at a shallower angle, it's fairly easy to bend the handle by hand. Good weight. Sturdy without being heavy. The hanging loop is nice, making it easy to hang up without having to fuss with the small holes in the handles of other utensils. I like how my index finger fits right into the hollow on the back of the shank. When I need to break up ingredients in the wok, I can apply pressure without worrying about my finger slipping off the shank. The only complaint I have is that the handle is pressed on, so there's a small gap where it meets the shank. Makes it a little harder to keep clean.

The ladle looks nice and feels solid with good stainless steel quality. It’s comfortable to hold and easy to clean. The only downside is that the spoon is a little shallow, so it doesn’t hold as much soup as I expected. Still works well overall and is a good addition to the kitchen.
