Long neck is a godsend
Our propane furnace pilot blew out when the heat had been off and there were extremely strong winds coming down the input and output vents from the roof. The cold air rushing out the provided hole to light the pilot blows out wooden matches that are attached to the wire extension that reaches the back of the furnace. In the past, it has taken up to half an hour to successfully get a flame to the pilot without the match blowing out. With the Camco lighter having the option of continuous electronic ignition, I lit the pilot on the first try, inserting the neck in the hole and then activating the lighter after it was in position over the pilot.I'm sure it would also be good for reaching under a camp fire lay to light the tinder, but have not tried that. Lighting wood stoves would be another use.For safety, both the top and bottom buttons plus a slide lock must be pressed at the same time to start the flame. Both top and bottom buttons can be twisted to lock against accidental pressing. Once lit, holding only the top button keeps the butane flowing. The bottom button can be released if continuous electronic ignition is not required.

Using this lighter for years
This is a great lighter. Perfect for when you need a flame in windy conditions or when trying to reach a pilot light and a draft blows out other lighters. Some people have difficulty in getting it to work. Three things need to happen to get a flame. On the bottom side of the lighter is a safety that has to be pressed after giving it a turn to point the white dot towards the front. Just align the dot and push it in with your index finger. Next on the top is another safety feature that needs to slide forward. Do this with your thumb with the joint directly on the slide. This releases the gas. And finally a button that causes the continuous spark needs to be pressed. Do this with the tip of your thumb. One hand is all you need. Obviously you will need to fill it with gas first.

This one is great. The flame is huge
Okay. This thing is honking huge. It's a frickin weapon. That's about my only criticism--it's a bit unwieldy. On the plus side, that means extra reach and room for fuel.I have tried a fair number of these long-neck lighters. Most recently before this one, I tried the Zippo Flex Neck Utility, which so far has been a POS. I am on my second return with them--and they charge you to return it even if it is defective. Ridiculous! Enough about them, though..This one is great. The flame is huge. I bought this to upgrade my smoker/grill lighting experience, and it has totally delivered. I use a chimney for my grill, and it launches the paper on fire. I use lighter blocks for my smoker, and it lets me easily reach and light them in the firebox drawer. It has two safety switches, and it has a safety light mechanism, so I feel safe having it where my kids might get to it (not that I intentionally leave it out for them ;) ).Overall, this is a great refillable utility lighter, the best I've found so far. Just keep in mind it is a monster.

Great lighter, great flexibility
Fill it up and ready to go. Great sustained long burn for lighting a stubborn fire. The only thing I would have liked is an option to eliminate the the "Safety Features". But, I guess those are there for the people who drive around with McDonald's coffee close to their privates.

Nice unit but ...
Our propane dealer recommended the Camco Olympian GM-3X Gas Match with Adjustable Flame for lighting our new fire bowl. It works great, once you can get it loaded with butane. But the instructions on the packaging leaves a lot to be desired. It recommends Ronson butane, but other brands will work. I live in a remote area where I could not find Ronson, but found other brands. Unfortunately, there were butane cans with 2 different kinds of nozzles on them. Looking at the GAs Match, the hardware store guy and I thought the one with the bigger nozzle would work. It did not, even though the Camden rep told me it should work (I sent him a photo of what I had). I finally found out the right kind of nozzle to be used. See the photo. The small plastic nozzle on the left hand can is what you need. The metal nozzle on the right hand can won't work - it just sprays butane all over.In addition, the instructions on the packaging are minimal. So here's what you do, once you have the right kind of butane can. There is a little hole in the bottom off the Gas Match. Follow the provided instructions to keep the safety cap on the ignition tip and to put on the safety locks both on the top and bottom of the unit. Turn the Gas Match upside down to expose the refill hole. Point the nozzle of the butane can downward into the refill hole. When you push down, it discharges the butane. There is a little window on the Gas Match so you can see how much liquid is being discharged into the Gas Match. Wish Camco had better instructions on the type of butane can and how to refill, and wish they had better customer service. Other than that, the Camco Olympian GM-3X Gas Match with Adjustable Flame is great with its long ignition wand.

This isa piece of plastic junk.. Buyer beware.
I originally purchased this and it did not work. I returned it and the new replaced unit had the same problem. Then it suddenly started working and then failed to light once again. This unit is cheap. I feels cheap. The knob on the bottom is jammed. The instructions were one tiny page and I had to use a magnifying glass to even read them. When used correctly it does not work. I have replaced the battery twice and it still does not work. It had proper amount of butane. Still nothing at all What a wastes on money and effort . Buyer beware!!

Excellent Butane Lighter!
This thing is a literal flame thrower!!! The flex neck is slim enough to get into hard to reach areas on a commercial oven. It’s a little pricey, but I’d buy it again.
