The torch shoots an awesome flame for broiling, but the adjustment knob doesn’t work well. If you shake the torch at all when using it jumps to the highest setting (basically a mini flamethrower- kind of cool but my crème brûlée wasn’t the biggest fan). Just be careful, don’t trust the knob to hold the setting and then it works great.

I have purchased smaller torches in the past that were butane. They worked sometimes, went out often or flame was too larger then too small. This allows you to adjust, It lit the first time every time, The flame is very hot so melting the end of a nylon rope or belt you have to be pretty careful because they melt immediately. I know this is for cooks and no doubt that it would be great. The torch I got for cooking before was horrible. The small size would make it great for firestarting if you were camping or hiking. A very good purchase. Oh pay attention to what you are buying it does to come with the cans of propane.

I got this torch and I'm very impressed with how easy it is to use. You simply turn the dial on the back of the torch to turn on the gas, then you pull the trigger and the torch will start. You can then control how strong the flame is by turning the back dial to control the amount of fuel to the torch. The dial near the flame will control how sharp the flame is - whether it is completely defined, or a wider flame. This allows for a lot of customization for different potential uses of the torch, depending on what you may want. To turn off, you turn the back dial to close the fuel and it quickly turns off. This works great for my experiments in acrylic painting, where I don't want the flame too strong. It's also great that you don't have to continually pull the trigger. Really a great torch, and much easier to use than the creme brulee torch I had been using before. Highly recommend this torch and can imagine many different applications! Great torch for the price!

Instructions for what kind of fuel cannister to use are completely lacking. You need the kind with the notch in the flange, not the more common kind without the notch. Whether the fuel canister has a notch or not is not indicated in the Amazon description, but sometimes you can tell from the picture.

Great torch at a great price! Works perfectly and flawlessly. I highly recommend! I also recommend the seller because the first one arrived damaged possibly from shipping. The seller took care of the issue immediately.

Worked great for a can of butane then would not light even though a spark was emitted. Had very low flow. I suspect it was the vslve on the end that was suppoded to control intensity. You could light it with a match but flame was very slight.

This is a helpful addition to my kitchen. I make pizzas in the microwave, and very often the top remains a bit soft and I miss the crispy crust and melted cheese flavor. This gas torch comes in handy.

Love how easy it was to use. The trigger makes lighting up the flame a cinch. The flames are pretty powerful, as compared to another head I had before. Overall very pleased.
