Someone mentioned that these contain 'food-grade wax'. How much 'wax' is in each piece? I don't want a lot of chemical buildup in our chimney. Thx.

Didn’t know about any wax. Been using these for about 3 years and have been happy with them on helping to start our fires. We clean our chimney every year.

I never received a lighter with mine?! Box doesn't say one is enclosed either.

No lighter comes with these. It's the fire starters that you light with a lighter to get the fire going (no kindling needed).

What are the recycled materials in this product?

They use food grade wax added to the wood 'blend'. I really like this product.

Are these the new smaller size box? If so you need to have the description picture reflect as so. I do not want to receive small blocks .

There are 8 layers of 6, i.e., 48 ea. (3/4" X 1 1/2" X 3 1/2") blocks, and each block is composed of 4 chunks partially cut so they can be easily broken into smaller 1 1/2" X 3/4" X 3/4" pieces. I can nearly always get my wood-burning fireplace insert started by using one of the smallest pieces. They're quite easy to set afire themselves; I use either wood matches or a grill "wand" lighter. For me, that's about 6 mos. worth of fires!
