My stones separated the blue from the white? What should I use to glue them back together or should I just use them apart?

I don't think it matters you can leave the stone apart but if you want to glue them back Gorilla glue make a good bonding agent for stone.

Does this hone and sharpen?

yes ,it does ,it has 2 sided 1000 /6000 grit for sharpen and hone .

Can this be used for katanas?

yes, as long as it has an edge, this stone will do the job. Ive sharpened knives and a sword with this stone. Works nicely with either one.
