The Heat (Blu-ray + DVD + Digital HD)

I normally don't buy DVDs. But after seeing this movie a while back I had to buy it. It is so hilarious! Melissa McCarthy kills in this movie. You are hooked from the beginning and it just gets funnier. I think this is by far Melissa's best movie to date. Be sure to watch past the credits at the end, some really funny stuff there as well. This film was so hilarious that I found myself rewinding it just to watch Melissa's facial expressions again so I could crack up more. And Sandra B. is very good in this too. I never thought of Sandra B. as very funny until I saw this movie, but she does a good job and the two of them together are a priceless match. You would think it was a chick flick but I know several guys that loved it as well. Everyone loves this movie. I will admit, there are a lot of Fbombs in it as some of the other reviewers have stated. So it is definitely not for your uptight types. But if you like to laugh a lot, this should do it. I am not exaggerating when I say I think this is the funniest movie I have ever seen. Get it! Or give it as a gift. Nothing better than the gift of laughter! And if you are mad or depressed or just cranky, this is an instant happy pill. :)

This is by far since Stir Crazy the funniest movie I have ever watched! Are you kidding, I have been to the theater 3 times and just bought it. And people.............if you have the slightest bit of depression, slip this puppy into your player and get ready to laugh you butts off....not suggested for those who have recently had abdominal surgery unless you have a pillow to cover your stomach when you start laughing...........great movie, not a dull scene in it. I am not usually into the F bomb, but read that Mellisa is not either and she made it sound funny....the only part I did not like was using Jesus in a few pictures, that bothered me.

Another one of my husband's FAVORITE movies! You would be amazed if I told you how many times we have watched this movie! This was another GREAT Deal. We got the Blu-Ray DVD, the HD DVD, and the download for a super price. One DVD stays in the car DVD player, and one in the house for the Blu-Ray player, my son got the download. Loved the deal, and this movie it beyond funny! If you enjoy this movie, take advantage of the Blu-ray DVD pack.

The investigation of a violent drug turf war in Boston brings together a prim-and-proper FBI agent from NY and a hard boiled Boston undercover cop. Sounds like the typical odd-buddy cop film, right? Hold on, the main characters in this comedy are Sandra Bullock and Mellisa McCarthy. Put a feminist slant on things and from there on it is a series of wild and crazy moments. The two of them take on a lot of really bad dudes and use all sorts of tricks to get information about a mysterious drug lord. This is a fun film. Despite the very implausible story line, The Heat has a lot going for it. There is plenty of action and lots of snappy dialog. The film is peppered with expletives that could be argued is a bit much, but the casting is so well done that most of it fits the story. There are a many scenes that are very, very funny. Some of the scenes are a bit long and the banter is a bit over the top, but somehow the film works. However, when the characters try to get deep and meaningful, they don't exactly pull it off. Maybe if they were teenagers it would seem more believable. There is a lot of great camera work and the action scenes are well executed. The Heat doesn’t have CGI or a bunch of special effects. The stunt work is really good, too. It is refreshing to see a movie that relies on the acting of the cast and not on the post production stuff. Bullock and McCarthy are "The Heat" - and they make this pic a load of fun to watch - highly recommend it!

What a great movie! This is a solid return to 80's style buddy comedy with a great twist by adding in Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. They play well off of each other and I would venture to say this is the Lethal Weapon of female cop movies. The action is well played out and the story is fun. The language is pretty vulgar so be aware before you pop it in in front of the fam, but the rating lets you know that. As for the blu ray presentation, it is solid with great visual and solid audio mixing. The action sequences play out well in 7.1. There are a few extras on the disc but really you are buying it for this great movie.

I love both Sandra and Melissa and when you get to put them both in a movie, the laughs just keep coming. Melissa's comedic timing is impecable and Sandra made a great straight guy. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this as I'd heard mixed reviews. If you're expecting another "Bridesmaids" this isn't it. This is totally different yet Melissa is equally as funny working with this script. I would love to know how much was ad-libbed and how they were able to keep straight faces at all. VERY VERY funny and I highly recommend it.

Hilarious movie with Sandra Bullock as an uptight FBI agent who locks horns with an on-the-fringe cop, Melissa McCarthy. They hook up to catch some bad guys and become close friends who don't quite follow the rules. Melissa McCarthy is not what you see on "Mike and Molly". She's a TOTALLY different character and she is uproarious. When they start working together, anything can happen!!!! And does!! Great movie. Don't miss it!!!!!

I wanted to see this movie in the theater as soon as I saw the previews, Sandra Bullock and Melissa Mccarthy? Sign me up! However, with crazy things going on in my life that don't need to be mentioned in this review, I never got to see it. When it came out on DVD I was wary of buying it at $20 because I didn't know many people who had gotten to see the movie--and like me were interested in seeing it, but if its $20 and it sucks, then it would be a giant waste. We bought this movie when it was on sale, don't remember the price but after seeing it, I would have been okay with paying the $20 price. I found this movie hilarious! The story itself is a bit heavier material than I had expected (I had expected a chick flick basically), but overall still good. Great to see a movie with a happy ending that doesn't involve a woman finding her soul mate/prince charming.
