Schylling 2131 Base Lamp with Rainbow Glitter Wax in Clear Liquid, 14.5", Gold

When one of the LEDs in a Lava Vortex lamp gave out after just five months, I decided to go old-school and eliminate the pesky electronics with one of the company's traditional bulb-fired glitter lamps. (I have found that Lava electronic products don't seem to stand the test of much time.) Imagine my displeasure, then, when the traditional bulb included with this Rainbow Glitter Lamp blew immediately upon initial deployment! Though I don't doubt Lava includes a cheap "starter" bulb, I also concluded that Amazon's poor packaging job was a culprit behind the premature failure as well -- there was NO packing in the shipping box, allowing the Lava box to slide freely from end to end of the shipping box, and indeed the top of the Lava box had popped open in transit, allowing some of the guts to hang out. Undaunted, I bought a replacement bulb at the Home Depot a few blocks away ($4.60 with tax) and asked Amazon to cover that amount, which they graciously did. Problem solved. I found that you do seem to need to give this lamp a gentle vertical shake to get it started, the claims of "immediate action" notwithstanding; the glitter particles like to cluster at the top of the bottle and must be "invited to the dance." Once the particles descend down the globe, however, the lamp is a thing of beauty. The multicolored glitter is a great idea -- red, green, blue, and yellow add considerable interest to the spectacle. Another reviewer said some of the colors of the glitter had faded over time; I hope that's because the lamp was placed in a sunny spot, and not an inherent failing in the glitter. I will report back if my colors fade -- my lamp is far from a sunny window. Finally, like Cinderella racing back from the ball by midnight, you MUST NOT keep a lava or glitter lamp running for more than 8 hours at a clip (the instructions say 10 is okay, but from personal experience, I say not!) If you do, the lava or glitter flowing or swirling action will decrease or even quit after a few months, and you will NOT be a happy camper. So we'll see how this Rainbow Glitter Lamp holds up with careful use. But out of the box, and out of the sunlight (though with a replacement bulb), the lamp is a sight to behold... PROS: * Multi-colored glitter adds eye appeal. * Instant startup -- well, maybe a minute or so. * In-line on-off switch. * No bulky transformer to plug in. * Reasonably priced. CONS: * Lamp needs gentle shake to stir glitter at startup. * Can't take direct sunlight. * Run time limited to 8 hours per day. * Uncertain durability. * Replacement bulbs not cheap -- more than $4.

Daughter loves, looks super cute. Great value for the price, good color options good size.

If you like glitter or if you're looking for a gift for a glitter lover 😁 then this would be a good and unique gift. I was worried about the quality when I first opened the box. Warning, the "lava" is sealed in with a bottle cap. But, once it's put together, I think it looks great. Even my husband, who is picky said it was "pretty cool". 😁 I've had this lamp on and off for a week and it's still working. The glitter floats around when it's on. The glittery light creates a fun pattern on a small part of the wall as well. I would buy it again for myself or for someone who likes glitter.

NEW NOTE: I have ordered two of these gorgeous lamps, and I love them. However, one defect is that for some inexplicable reason, the green glitter stars collect at the top under the cap area, so that in order to get the full glittery effect, at least three times per day, I must turn the lamp upside down and shake it. I ask the seller/manufacturer, if they can make the future lamps not have this issue, as I would like to buy one for my boss at Christmas. Please see if you can correct the problem. Thank you so much! I love this beautiful lamp! The rainbow glitter flows very softly and slow, but is so gorgeous! I placed the lamp in my spare bedroom as a nightlight for my cats as they pass by the room or rest on the guest bed, or for my occasional guests. My cats do sit for some time and just stare at the lamp. I think they love it! I too love to look at this beautiful lamp as I pass by that room. And chances are good that I will re-order this lamp for my guest bathroom. I know that I will be ordering this lamp for someone at Christmas.

I love this lamp! When we received it, it was a beautiful mix of color, red, green, purple, all different colors. After about 2-3 hours, it turned gold/light green and that's the way it's stayed. I'm disappointed that the other colors went away, but it's still very pretty and it still sparkles. UPDATE: I just had to throw this lamp away. I leave it on all the time, and after a couple of months, the glitter stopped floating around. I would have to turn it off and then wait about an hour or so and turn it back on, the glitter would start up again, but then after about an hour, it would go away again. I got tired of that, and although the light was still bright and the water was yellow, that was it. So I through it away. I considered getting another one, but I don't want to have to buy a lava lamp every 3 months, so I bought a different kind. I really like this lamp, I am just sorry it didn't last very long!

I legit never write reviews but I had to for this. My husband has bought me a red lava lamp awhile back because I wanted one for myself after buying my daughter one. So he surprised me with the red one. Which I loved..but I wanted to upgrade to something a little more chic and found this one and bought it. It’s beautiful!!!!!! It gives off nice light and has some pretty rainbow sparkle effect and I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. It was definitely an upgrade for my bedside. My kids keep fighting over who gets it when I someday get rid of it…little do they know I’m not ever planning to get rid of it! Definitely a good buy.

I am so in love with this lamp.. it has truly changed the game in my space & put all of my already legit awesome Ikea lamps to sadly to shame, in a big way. The gold is brushed (which I love), as is the brass of my other lamps, so this beauty honestly blends in perfectly and has freaking exceeded my expectations. The glitter is of primary colours (red, green, blue), so I, ignorant to the magic of science/optics, thought it was going to be a little basic and masculine for my liking, but no.. every freaking colour is refracted from this beauty when it's lit & churning ohhh so magically, hypnotically. Worth noting is that my mental health has benefited tremendously from this amazinggg lamp from the day I got it. Truly. My space is new, I freaking love this thing. Buy one for all of your depressed friends, old and young. Game changer. Brings a space together, and at night... oh my <3

Es una lámpara muy bonita, hecha con materiales de buena calidad. Proporciona una buena iluminación, pero lo atractivo de ella es el movimiento de los cientos de brillos en su interior. Simplemente genial!. Mi hija quedó muy contenta con su lámpara. El único punto negativo que le veo es que la bombilla que utiliza es de resistencia (no es LED), lo que implica que su consumo de energía sea elevado comparado contra bombillas LED de nueva generación, aunque lo justifico un poco ya que el movimiento de los brillos se genera gracias al calor que genera esta bombilla (una de LED difícilmente se calienta a los niveles de bombillas de resistencia).

Ne convient pas à la france !!! quand je l'ai déballée quelle surprise...la prise de branchement n'est pas aux normes française !!! j'ai du commander une prise spéciale en plus... Quand je l'ai branchée...l'ampoule a explosée !!! impossible de trouver une ampoule de remplacement car c'est un culot spécial donc ??? Elle ne fonctionne pas !!!

購入した時に片方のプラグが太く差し込めなかったので、返品した所片方太くてもさせますよと言われ、郵送無料でまた送ってきてくれました。 早速やってみると、やっぱりさせない。。 もしかしてと家についてるコンセントに刺したらできました！ ただ、ホームセンターで買ったスイッチ式の沢山させるコンセントにささらないだけでした。 品物はとてもきれいで、満足です。 部屋の壁までモヤモヤしてます。 ボケーっとみてる間にいつも寝てしまいます。 ゆっくりラメが動くので本当に買って良かったです！
