I've had absolutely no issues with this crimper. The connectors slide in and out easily, the operation is smooth, and I haven't had a single connection that needed to be recrimped. This thing does exactly what you need it to, nothing more and nothing less.

Works as advertised with the right kind of cable
The crimper works great. There are two additional considerations, though. First, one needs to work with fairly stiff cable. I cut an off-the-shelf patch cable to shorten it. The individual wires were so flexible as to make it difficult to get the right arrangement into the plug for crimping. As I see on video, bulk cat 5 or 6 cable seems to have stiffer inner wires, so that may have been my mistake. The second consideration is that there is a type of plug that allows threading of wire through the plug. This would enable verification of correct arrangement before stripping, but an additional cutter is required to cut off the remaining excess. The modular crimper itself strips cable well, cuts well and crimps well.

UPDATE BELOW ORIGINAL POST - BEWARE - Very unsafe - Cheaply Made
Avoid these! I bought the Fluke RJ45 crimper because I thought Fluke was top notch and have always owned cheaper ones in the past. Well I finally had the opportunity to use my "great" crimpers and while attempting to show them off and use for the first time they broke! While trying to terminate the plug, the yellow handle came off, the release bracket fell out, and I nearly cut myself on the razor. I spent a lot of money on these to not get any use out of them. Expensive name but very low quality plastic & parts on this tool. I'm going to reach out to fluke and see if this was just a one in a million or if they'll allow me to send them in to inspect them to show they've not been abused. As you can tell by the picture they are brand new. I'll update this review after I've had a chance to speak with someone.UPDATEIf I could give 0 stars I would. I contacted Fluke who initially told me they do not make these and acted like I was crazy or confused. I explained that they are sold on amazon, and also on their website. The employee advised she could not find them so I suggested that she should use google to search them and she then found them. She advised me that these crimpers are considered and "accessory" and Fluke does not service or offer warranties on "accessories". Do yourself a favor and buy something more dependable and safer.

Fluke is the name, quality is there game. ...
Fluke is the name, quality is there game. Very impressed with the product and of course carries the fluke price tag. One complaint I had was that the stripping part of the crimper seems to have a very close cut to the wire and takes some adjusting to make sure you aren't scoring the wire.
