Very convenient transmitter that sounds great with a little tweaking!
UPDATE: At the seller's request, I spent more time with this product to see if I could figure out how to reduce the sibilant noise. The seller recommended I try a different FM station which only made me think they didn't understand the problem. I already had a clean station that works fine with my current transmitter. Why would a different station produce better results on s sounds? But, as I really like the conveniences of this transmitter, even though their suggestion seemed unhelpful, I gave it another go because I really want this unit to work. I googled "open fm frequencies" and found a couple recommended stations for my zip code. The results of my tests, which I describe next, were the same regardless of the FM station. There were differences though, so it is worthwhile to try several. The differences in FM stations were mainly in how quiet the silence was. So I should think it best to start by finding the FM station that's quietest for your vehicle in the zip codes in your commute. By this I mean, set the radio and transmitter to the first recommended station and turn the car radio volume up. Then try the next station and compare to find the quietest. If your car's FM tuner has a signal strength indicator, this next step is a bit more scientific. My Honda has a "ST" indicator that goes out if the stereo signal fades. I set the Bluetooth volume on my phone to max, turned the car radio volume to near zero and the transmitter volume to max, then played a song with vocals containing the "s" sound. With the car volume low it was very easy to see the "ST" disappear whenever the sibilant "s" sound occurred. Even if I couldn't hear the distortion, I could see the stereo signal disappear. For why this occurs, google "Why is the s sound the most distorted on bad radio signals" So, now I had a repeatable, objective way to observe the problem. Leaving the phone volume at max, I then began reducing the transmitter volume until the ST no longer went out. This occurred about 21/22 for the particular songs I was testing with. I then turned the car radio volume up to a fairly loud level and listened. The s distortion was still noticeable, and I ended up turning the volume down to between 15 and 18. This still provided plenty of volume for my car radio and the distortion was nearly undetectable. Certainly good enough. For some songs that just need to be louder, I would certainly say crank the transmitter volume. But then return it to the sweet spot around 15 to 18. Then I compared the sound I was now getting to my original Coby (which just sounds great but is no longer available). I found that the music sounded just about as full, but with a cleaner signal, better stereo separation and better clarity, which you would expect from Bluetooth. So now, what I had hoped for is true: This transmitter does the job. I can recommend it to friends as well as pick up a couple more for my other vehicles. ORIGINAL REVIEW: 3 stars - Picked this one based on positive reviews. Does key things well - pairs quickly and automatically; next and previous song buttons work as expected; using blue tooth, sound is much clearer than using an audio cable in headphone port. Compared to my current FM transmitter, and old Coby unit, it's much more convenient as it automatically connects. The only issue is the sound quality at high frequencies. Sibilants (s-sounds, hissing) come through quite distorted. For some songs are unlistenable. Piano music, for instance, wouldn't be affected. Vocal music likely is. I'm comparing this with my current FM transmitter which doesn't produce this distorted s-sound affect at all. Sound I'm surprised this one does, and that no one has mentioned it in a review, good or bad. Wondering if I received a defective unit. Have used it for two days. and will see if the distortion becomes too irritating to keep this product.

it’s perfect for those who have a old car stereo with no Bluetooth or aux capabilities
This is amazing, I honestly didn’t even know there was such a thing I was given a car for my dad, but it’s an old car from 2007 so it didn’t have anything but a CD player/radio, I’ve had that before and other cars, but they had the aux cord option so I never really ran into needing to look for something different. Originally, I was going to look for a new radio, but having to put money into the car to get it fixed to be able to pass inspection, I didn’t really have the money to throw into a radio as well, plus nowadays it’s kind of hard to find somewhere that sells car, radios, and installs them at least where I live. so I started googling to see if I could find anything that I could use to be able to connect my phone to my radio because I absolutely hate my local radio stations. I originally was looking for something like a CD that had Bluetooth on it, but I couldn’t find anything but came across this item and decided to give it a shot. it is super nice. It’s easy to connect. It took me literally just a few seconds to connect to my phone and the radio. You just tune the regular radio to the same station that you have it on with the device, and Bluetooth connects in a matter of seconds. I love that it automatically turns on as long as it’s plugged in and connect to your phone so that way, I don’t have to sit there and connect it and turn it on every time I get into the car, I also love that it has the option to skip a song on the device itself so that way I don’t have to pull out my phone. My steering wheel has a volume option button, but it doesn’t have a skip option so I can’t control it from my steering wheel when I want to change the song, I also like that there’s a pause option if you tap the middle button that you connect with a Bluetooth to pause your music rather than having to pull out your phone. Overall, I have no complaints about this device. I’ve never really had any issues with static as of yet or any other type of weird feedback. There is one time I heard a weird little noise, but it was so quick. I don’t even know if it was from that or my car or something outside and I’ve only heard it once so I can’t even say for sure but as of now there’s no complaints whatsoever and definitely was worth the money and I would definitely buy again if I ever run into having another car that doesn’t have Bluetooth or an aux capability

May Need To Be Uninstalled in Some Vehicles When Not In Use
This product was tested in two vehicles. The first, a 2001 VW Beetle and the second, a 2009 Mini Cooper. The adapter worked as expected in both to stream Bluetooth music from my iPhone over an unusued FM station on the receiver in each vehicle. Sound was not as good as the stock head unit, but it was still good and provided a nice workaround for hands-free calling and streaming music. Pairing with the device was as easy as turning on the Bluetooth on my phone after plugging the adapter to power it up. The controls are intuitive and easy to use. The VW did not power down the adapter. The lights stayed on the adapter even when the car was turned off, and since that would wear down the battery, I unplugged it. Not ideal, but according to the manual, some vehicles require disengaging the adapter. The Mini powered down the socket where the adapter was plugged in, and thus could remain installed in the vehicle. Microphone quality was OK, and having a USB port on the adapter for charging was something I looked for and was happy to have. Overall, a good purchase and something I should have bought years ago! I will be replacing the original radio in the VW with a Bluetooth stereo this week, but for the Mini - this is perfect, and a cheap way to add Bluetooth connectivity to older cars and trucks that have a cigarette lighter port within easy reach of the driver.

Fantastic "Bluetooth to FM" Link for Car Stereos without Bluetooth
This is simply TOO COOL and functional for words. First it is extremely intuitive (didn't even have to read the manual...just looked at the quick start guide which showed what each button does). And, as important, it is much safer to use, while driving, versus fumbling around on your smartphone or iPod/iPad, when playing music on your car stereo (more on that, below). I have several older model vehicles which do not have Bluetooth and this solves a huge problem, elegantly and simply. When I am driving on the highway, I use my iPad Air 2 for music, with all of my iTunes playlists loaded onto it. Getting that music into my car's sound system was not possible, before I found this wonderful device. First I plug the Nulaxy into the car's accessory plug-in, which turns it on automatically. Then, I turn on the iPad (or any smartphone with Bluetooth) and ask for it to "find" and "pair" with other devices, at which time it finds the Nulaxy automatically (when the Nulaxy is plugged in and "on"). Then open iTunes or other music player on your device and start up a song. Then go to the Nulaxy and use the upper two buttons above the "dial knob", to go up or down the FM station selections to find a clear signal where you can hear the music playing from your device. And you are done with that "launch" step. Here is where this device is so much safer to use than fumbling with your music player device. A) If you want to mute, for an incoming call, you simply push the illuminated blue button in the center of the dial, which automatically pauses the song that is playing on your device, to allow silence for taking a phone call or other reasons needing silence. You can also put the phone call into your car stereo system with a couple of button pushes. And you can recall the last number dialed with a couple of button pushes on the center dial. And when you are done, just push the center button again and it goes back to playing music where you left off. B) Push the forward and reverse buttons without taking your eyes off the road, to advance to the next song, or go back. C) Turn up the volume by spinning the round dial (just like you would on your car's stereo dash controls). Or, alternately, use the volume up or down buttons, which flank the round dial that does the same thing. I use the round dial instead of the car's volume control because I first turn up my music player device to close to 100% for the best sound transmission and then use the Nulaxy volume control to go up or down. I found this to be the best mix for optimum sound. Although, if desired, you can still use your car's audio system dials for volume. Multiple options for the safest mode for your needs. D) And a great feature which covers all the bases...let's say you have a music player that does not have Bluetooth (maybe an old ipod, or a cassette player or whatever) and you want to get the music from your device onto your car audio system using the Nulaxy. The Nulaxy has a 3.5mm stereo mini plug port on the side of the unit that allows you to run a simple stereo cord from the headphone jack on your player, into the Nulaxy, which then transmits the signal to an FM station on your car stereo. Good engineering to be the most user friendly and feature rich. E) There is also a TF Card port on the side of the unit, which allows you to use a TF Card or Micro SD card in the Nulaxy. I have not used this feature so I can't comment on its usefulness. F) And the last feature worth mentioning is that there is a USB charging port on the back side of the part that plugs into the accessory outlet of your car (cigarette lighter style port). So you can plug your device into this to keep it charged while driving and using the Nulaxy. Great for extended periods in which you want to conserve battery on your smartphone or player. CAUTION though, which most people may already know. You probably do not want to use your cigarette lighter port (if you have a dual port..one for accessories and one for a cigarette lighter), because if you plug anything into a cigarette lighter port, for an extended time, it will cause that port to overheat and possibly cause damage to the wiring and/or your device plug. I made that mistake at one time and plugged something into the cigarette lighter to charge, while I was using the alternate accessory port for the Nulaxy. After about 20 minutes, I reached up to control something on the radio panel and noticed that entire area of my dashboard felt very hot to the touch and would have probably short circuited or started a fire, had I not discovered the over heating by accident. So be careful with this potential hazard. All in all this is a fantastic little unit, which works extremely well and is very user friendly with all of the features one could possible think of, for mobile music linked to your car stereo. I plan on buying a second one to keep in my powerboat and for use in other vehicles.

Does everything great for this delivery driver
This is about the best out there at this price point. As someone who participates in the on-demand/sharing economy I had a couple of desires and this performed at/or above expectations. I am in and out of my vehicle 40+ times a day in a vehicle with a rare (and discontinued) fiber optic audio system that made replacing with aftermarket a $600 labor bill plus equipment. I have owned 4 other FM transmitters that worked via AUX cable, but having to mess with the cable so much was just another frustrating step when deliveries were coming thick and fast so I researched and ordered this. Installation and setup took 2 min (including finding the best frequency that many complain about) then began streaming my music like I've owned this all my life. Here are the problems it solves: 1. Hassle-free connection: Once paired (regular process) this thing automatically detects and connects with your device. BT range is 30+ feet and sometimes I don't lose connection when going to the door, but no worries if I do lose because of the auto-connect. Sound quality is as well as to be expected with an FM transmitter and on par with my previous $40 wire only connection (which is remarkable considering that BT is not known to be that great). It does get better if you use the included AUX cord, but only just. 2. Enough Power: I use my delivery app(s), Waze, stream music/YouTube/live games and check social media at nearly the same time (not all while driving of course). Often lesser transmitters cannot keep up with the battery demand, but this one does in spades. 3. Phone calls: This uses its own microphone and it is better (marginally) than any other transmitter I've owned as reported by friends who I used as guinea pigs. Issues to report noted in other reviews: *Slightly large plug that protrudes from lighter hole can make it suspectible to losing power when bumped. Find the right position (may take a minute) and it will stay locked in eliminating this. *Flexible neck that's not very flexible. Just figure out exactly where you want it for a couple of days, then take a blow dryer to heat it up, get it where you want it and shoot with a few seconds from a compressed air can. The heat will allow it to flex and the rapid cold will lock it into place. *Not powering off: no on/off switch so if the cigarette lighter is always powered this will be too. Either/ unplug each time, rewire the outlet or buy a bigger battery. It's gonna use so little power that with a good Interstate battery you should be fine day to day. *Frequency static: Follow the instructions and choose a frequency at the edges and you'll have little problems with interference. Easy to find out before you buy, look at the frequency range of the product and see if your radio has no stations broadcasting at the top or bottom. Overall, excellent product for the money and I have recommended it several other drivers who are enjoying it as well.

Works
Works like a charm! I plugged it into my port, adjusted the channel on my adapter to match my radio, connected to Bluetooth and played my podcast immediately. I’m not great with technology and I didn’t even need the instructions. It started working immediately. Not sure how long it’ll work, but so far so good

It ok. But just OK
I guess it’s ok. But volume is very low and static quick a bit. I wish it did a better job.

Inexpensive and works
It works with my old stereo. There is some hissing noise when using it but once you start driving, you don’t notice it. For the price, very satisfied.

Worth it.
Excellent device. I have an old car, and I’ve gone through many transmitters, and this one is by fae the best. The signal to noise ratio is minimal on an open frequency that doesn’t have a major station playing through it. The clarity and volume that comes through is pretty clean, the bass response is very good. The onboard volume knob is a nice touch as well. The signal is pretty hifi for a transmitter and I can drive with my windows open and can still hear my music with no problem. I used to have a Scoche and over time the volume depreciated, this device seems reliable and super easy to set up. So far so good and no problem. Looks great in my car and more importantly I can hear my music without overbearing noise pollution from static. Music comes through very clean and I am enjoying this device very much. Easiest 5 stars I’ve ever been able to give to a product. Highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.
