I bought these from a tack seller at a lower price than Amazon is charging, however, I put them through the "waterproof" test right out of the package. The photo on the package shows the horse standing in mud and specifically states these are for TURNOUT use. My goal was to keep my arthritic gelding's fetlocks warm and DRY in those exact conditions--the mud pit around the feeder.I set the chap on a plate of water and within minutes it had soaked it up. Standing it upright, the same occurred, which meant my horse's leg would've been wrapped in a cold, wet, muddy chap that might potentially freeze on his leg at night. NOT as advertised. Will be returning these to seller.

Protect the horse's legs well.

Fantastic product. Have used for years with my horse's against injuries when turned out and mud fever.
