Sprite SL2-BN Universal Slim-Line2 Shower Filter, Brushed Nickel

Easy install, HQ filtering. I am water quality sensitive and picky. No filter is perfect, when I am away in nature for a bit and then return I can get a faint whiff of chems from water, but so little that I adjust quickly and can't tell again after a few seconds. Best one ive tried so far.

I purchased the Sprite Shower filter as a gift to my daughter's household. I purchased one myself back in 2024 at Home Depot, and it changed my life. It is worth the upgrade to my health, wellbeing, and overall showering / cleansing experience. Great quality, efficient filtering system. I felt the difference in water quality shower one. The filter housing has held up nicely for me as well. The filter is really easy to change. Do check the O gasket, though, to make sure it is seated properly every time. Easy visual during a filter change. I love the convenience of Sprite having an Amazon store that I can sub my filter replacements on the recommended schedule without thinking about it. It arrives, and I know it's time.

I learned about this filter from Water Filter Guru, where he compared 10 popular filters and ran lab tests on the water before and after installation. This product came in a close second for water quality, but it was a much better value than the first place option. I saw a few reviews mentioning leaks, so I purchased some Teflon tape and Tru Blu pipe thread sealant for the installation. I had absolutely no leakage, and the water flow and pressure were not affected at all. The fit was perfect, and it does not take up too much room or make the shower head sit too low like some other products. I also ordered an On The Go water softener to soften the water after filtering. This setup has worked great, and I can definitely see the difference in water quality. Keep in mind that these filters do not soften water on their own. None of them do. A portable RV water softener is the best option if you want soft water. This filter is the best option for removing chlorine and other contaminants.

I purchased three of these, one worked great, but the other two would not seal properly.

After reading the reviews regarding the leaking issues I really didn't want to buy it but I knew it was a good filter outside of that. With that being said this filter DID NOT leak at all. A+

Sprite Industries SL2-BN Slim-Line 2 Universal Shower Filter, Brushed Nickel The "brushed nickel" finish is more like brushed chrome. It doesn't match the Moen brushed nickel finish. I had to add a rubber grommet between this and my showerhead to make the showerhead swivel snug. Without it the fitting leaked big. NOW THE GOOD PART. The chlorine test (DPD1) went to negligible results Meaning the test found no chlorine left. The pH measured at just under 7.0. (I don't know what they mean in the sales stuff about "pH balanced". Does it change the pH? How if it doesn't know what your water pH is?)

It seems to me that this filter has a design flaw. I got this filter installed, which only took a couple of minutes. The condition of the water seemed to be a bit softer, and not reeking of chlorine which I can usually detect. But once this is turned on, the cartridge fills up with water, and it begins to spray out of your shower head, there is a loss of pressure, and then water starts to leak out of the threaded area of the filter casing itself. I thought I had gotten one that was defective, so I returned it, and got a replacement. The second filter did the same exact thing. It looks good, and feels good, but the water pressure goes down when you turn it on, and again the water began to leak on the back portion of the casing where the threading is. This seems to be the weak spot and looks like it's due to it restraining the water pressure from the spigot. It fely as if the filter was going to blow off at any moment. This may work best for homes that already have low water pressure, but it sadly didi not work for my shower. The plastic is very fragile. I wish I could find one that was made of stainless steel. Perhaps my water pressure comes in from the outside much too high for this filter.

Installed fine but when I measured my water with a TDS meter, the reading went from 270 to 260. So a slight improvement but not as much as I hoped.

Had been struggling with chlorine and smell of hard water, I can tell the differences after first wash. Feel skin isn't so dry as before, Sprite is a good brand and leading in market, highly recommended if you don't have filtration installed in the house.

The female part is very deep and no washer with filter, however the rest are ok

It is one of the best Shower filters I ever bought. It is the 2nd year in a row that I bought this one with no regrets. My first one, I bought in California when I was studying over there and brought it with me to Australia. Before I got the 2nd one (because I didn’t know I could’ve bought through Amazon Australia), I ordered one from a different company and tried to use that one for a month; what a mistake!! My skin was so dry, my feet looked like sandpaper, it was a waste of money. Then, I just ordered this one through Amazon Australia and soon I plugged it in, it worked so well. To get this one, you need to have extra parts to make this to work. It is worth going an extra step to have this filter in your shower. For those wondering how to get it working, Please see the photos with the extra parts I had to buy.

Ce n'est indiqué nulle part mais produit Incompatible avec le standar français parce que filetage femelle bien trop profond. (Européen?). Je laisse 5* pour ne pas plomber inutilement la note puisque je n'ai pas pu tester le produit.
