Smells nice, better than the THK thickening version, works slowly & subtly
Smells nice, better than the purple bottle THK thickening version (which smells more like hair dye, bleh). Works slowly & subtly so you don't suddenly look like you have a fake dark beard and everyone knows you're coloring.I'm not sure about this, but it seems like this brown bottle version (non-THK) might be less effective than the purple bottle THK (thickening) version. This perception could simply be coincidence with how I've used it, since I alternate using that until the bottle's gone, then I use a bottle of this, and so on. I use it about 2-3 times per week to maintain. What's nice is you can choose how often to use to subtly hide some grey, or keep using daily to keep increasing its effect, or use once in a while to maintain subtle camouflaging. Sky's the limit so to speak.IMPORTANT: when they say don't leave this on your nails, THEY MEAN IT! This stuff stains your nails QUICKLY! Use gloves or rinse off your nails *immediately*, and this even includes your toenails when you rinse while standing in the shower, pay attention to that too, lift your toes or make sure they're in the water stream- you've been warned. Unless you don't mind your nails looking dark and dirty, but chances are if you're using this stuff to begin with, then you care about your appearance.ALSO IMPORTANT: Don't expect immediate results, it takes time to start having a noticeable effect, and they explain this. TIP, you can apply this standing at the sink and leave on longer than the 2-3 minutes they recommend, for greater & faster effect. Personally I think 2-3 minutes is too little time, but that's me.

Younger me
Tired of dying my hair gray. This stuff helps. No hassle use but use the palms of your hands or use gloves. It will dye your fingernails. Works best if you leave it in for awhile. Best if used daily.GF likes the scentHard to find in retail stores now

Not perfect, but seems to work well enough..
This product seems to do an okay job at darkening grey hairs, but does an amazing job of dying your lips and along and underneath your fingernails. As instructed, I wash my hands constantly throughout the process, but it still manages to permanently dye my fingernails, usually along the sides (and it's near impossible to apply to a mustache with palms as directed). I'm now applying some Chapstick to avoid staining of the lips, but think I'm going to need to try applying that or something similar to my nails as well. Doesn't seem to stain other areas of my skin at all and a small amount used two or three times a week seems to hide greys well enough, at least from a distance (greys are still noticeable up close). Seems to work best on longer hairs (4mm guard or longer), but does help a little with shorter stubble, just not as well. Overall color tone seems to be a light to medium brown, which appears to be a shade too light for my natural color. The foaming/lather is about right and is much easier to work with compared to their gradual shampoo.Interesting product, but for someone that keeps their facial hair short, I'm really not sure if it's worth $8 for such a small tube. I'm going to keep trying it for a month or two and see if I can find a balance between application intervals and trimming facial hair, while somehow trying to avoid the staining.

Works well, consistency is key
I've used this beard wash/color product for at least a couple of years now. I've been very pleased with the results and am pretty consistent using it 2-3 times per week. My full and relatively long (currently 4" below my chin) beard would be 90-100% gray without using this. New gray growth is the trickiest part to keep up with or keep covered. That growth typically shows up at the top-most/front-most edges of one's mustache, beard lines along the cheek, just below the bottom lip and the outside edges of the beard by the ear and extending down the jawline. I don't experience irritation to my skin from using it. There is an odor that is noticeable and that can last into the day as well. I do touch-ups by only applying to the new growth areas mentioned above which saves on product consumption. I DO wear nitrile gloves to apply. I DO leave it on for the entirety of my shower (vs only 3-5 minutes per the instructions). I have also brushed it (with a brush from a permanent dye kit I tried) onto my dry beard/mustache new growth areas BEFORE getting into the shower. If left on for a lengthy period of time, in the shower or beforehand, it may cause some undesired staining of the skin. So wiping off excess from the skin after applying and/or wiping the stained areas with rubbing alcohol afterwards is advised. I prefer this temporary beard wash over a permanent color due to skin staining of permanent dye and the more noticeable contrast between new growth and permanently dyed whiskers. Lastly, I've always worn a daily beard balm (vs oil) in my beard and switched to using a heavier balm by the same company year round as I feel like the color makes my beard more dry. The heavy beard balm does a great job of keeping my beard healthy despite the color though.

Poorly mixed product leading to inconsistent results
I've bought this multiple times and it's really inconsistent. The stuff in the tube seems like it's poorly mixed so sometimes you get the coloring agent and often times you don't so you're using it with zero results.
