Premium phone for a budget price
I bought this as a second phone as I already own a Galaxy S21 Ultra. I was expecting it to be nothing special based on its budget price. But I was so wrong! It has an instant premium look and feel, has an impressive sharp and vibrant screen and is packed with features that you tend to only find on high end phones. The fingerprint reader is very responsive, it has an IR blaster and expandable memory, and a headphone jack! Battery life is stellar and it performs without any lag or issues so far.Placing it next to my expensive S21 Ultra and you immediately see similarities. Xiaomi has really shown that you can make a great phone for a cheaper price. Now a review isn't a review if you don't mention negatives of course, so I will kick that off by saying that the main issue is the speaker. It's mono and although it's loud enough the sound quality is poor. The phone also lacks NFC, so using it for contactless payment is out and it doesn't have wireless charging. The latter two might not be such deal breakers for most however.Camera quality is very good again for this price range. Low light images suffer as you might expect but generally the shots I have taken have been more than acceptable.Overall this is a terrific phone in it's price bracket, and anyone buying it won't regret it I am certain.

Fantastic phone with many flagship level features.
It's a good enough phone at £249 but it was simply astounding value when it was £159 during the Amazon UK Black Friday sale. Bought as a gift for someone for Christmas but tried it out myself first and set it up for them.Pros: A vivid LCD screen with excellent brightness levels and clarity, almost as good as OLED and certainly an exceptional LCD one. Nice form factor, brilliant and fast fingerprint sensor on the power button on the right hand side. Works better than my Note 20 Ultra's in-screen optical sensor. Fast enough performance from the mid-level processor and ample memory RAM for multitasking. A really decent camera in both normal and low light. I was expecting this to be a compromise but it was really decent and not far off the flagship phones on everyday point and shoot photos. Even a decent night mode! Clearly the 64mp sensor is a decent mid-range one that would have been flagship level a couple of years ago. Battery life, well that's unreal and it also charges so quickly too.Cons: Software interface is not as bad as other people say but if this was phone was closer to stock Android, it would improve it even more. No other cons to be honest. Many flagship quality features and it makes you rethink why anyone would want to pay £800-£1300 for the top-tier models. Get this and go sim-free and you won't be disappointed. I'm a geek and I need to reconsider paying so much for my Note 20 Ultra after using this!

Good phone, great value - with some tinkering
The battery life is excellent which is really what I was most after, having previously had Samsung Galaxy S7 and S9 which had terrible batteries. The MIUI is not great, but it can be mostly changed to meet preferences. They sell the phone cheap and make money back through the use of ads which are built in to a lot of stock apps, but these can all be disabled using an online guide - but otherwise you can just ignore them and they don't get in the way. The notifications are a bit of a pain point, as indicated in YouTube reviews - for some reason they don't all show on the lock screen and I haven't found a way round this. Can be annoying if your phone vibrates and you check and there's nothing there. But its not a show stopper - you just need to drag down and it shows them all (or maybe what it deems less important). MIUI also applies battery and other 'optimisations' which can cause problems with some apps, but this can also be disabled so no problem, but as an average user you might not notice it. The hardware is all great - I've been pleased with the camera; the performance is good (I play games), and the display is good for its price. I did have a manufacturing fault with the screen whereby when certain colours show I can see something underneath the corner of the screen, and although Amazon were happy to replace, I accepted a 10% discount from Amazon as compensation. So overall if you want a good value phone (a fraction of the cost of a premium phone but similar specs!) and don't mind tinkering with a few settings to get it to your liking (or otherwise aren't bothered!) then I'd recommend this phone to you.

Grab a great phone with such low price
Wow very impressive powerful phone that can run 100%. Apps , games , Google maps and super fast internet. I'm a deliveroo scooter driver and I've used this phone for two days from 9am - 6pm using data and customers can track where i am so using data the whole time on shift with constant trips and when I got home I still had over 50% battery left. Also using Bluetooth headset. Performance I must say is the best you can get. I've owned apple , Samsung's ect and nothing has got close to this phone. The cameras are just amazing. I do recommend this phone to anyone. I got a nice case for this phone on Amazon as well. . Today was very hot and the phone didn't lagg or slow down and what ever I wanted to view sites the phone was on the ball and very quick. Tbh the price above should be alot more so grab a right bargain

I don't often write reviews however I felt that I had to for this phone. I have upgraded from an Honor 8X, which back when it first came out was in the same league as this phone, high spec low price. Having now used my Redmi for a few days I want to point out what I love about it.Well built and feels solid to hold.Well equipped NFC rapid chargeScreen is bright and clear and calls are clearComes with a caseInterstellar grey is beautiful but a fingerprint magnetThe built in finger print scanner is excellentThe preinstalled bloatware is a little bit irritatingMi mover wasn't greatOver all for the price you cannot go wrong! Buy it love it!

When my Xiaomi retires I will buy another one for sure!!!
I needed a good phone for lower price and since couple of friends and family members have the Xiaomi a chance already, I decided to give it a go.Can't be happier with my phone! The battery lasts forever :) I charge it once in 2-3 days depends how much I need internet. The camera is amazing, I love to take pictures and the quality here is awesome. Also I like to listen to music quite a lot and the sound is clear and has a very good quality.Very happy with the price and the product itself, definitely recommend.

Great phone, no issues - Wifi works fine.
I read a lot of reviews and "best budget smart phone 2020" lists before buying this - you're probably doing the same thing. My last phone was a Xiaomi A2 Lite, and, though a good phone, I had problems when trying to connect it to my Bluetooth headphones. I put a question out on Amazon asking if any users of the Redmi 9 Pro had had any problems with the Bluetooth, and somebody got back to me saying no, it worked fine; that gave me some reassurance. But then I encountered the reviews mentioning a problem with the Wifi disconnecting after inactivity, and it made me hesitate. I decided that the fault had only been reported by a fraction of users, and so I took the plunge. I'm glad I did. It's a very good phone, although some settings need to be tweaked to get it running the way you want it to - it's been a faff getting my Garmin watch to fully sync with it, but maybe that's more down to my own ineptitude, and it's working fine now. All in all, I'm very happy with this phone, and I haven't even gotten properly started with it yet (I mostly use it to read Google Books, social media, etc).

For me Personally the best phone iv ever had including Samsung and iPhone
Was unsure about this with so many to choose from. I recently cracked my galaxy 9edge screen and wanted another phone to use while I get it fixed. I also wanted a better camera which this phone has! I have to say I absolutely love this phone and won't be going bk to my Samsung as this is better! The camera is amazing on this great pics, battery last sooooo long and u can use 2sim cards aswell as extend the memory upto 512g with a micro SIM. All Google services work fine including Google play and all other apps. I cannot believe the price of this phone compared to some of the other brands as I personally think its the best phone iv ever had and iv had a few of the top brands but intend to stick with this now. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it , go on buy it ,I doubt very much u will be disappointed
