Truly Amazing Real True Wireless Earbuds - Technics AZ70
I am a Huge Techics Fan and Technics owner of Audio Equipment/Speakers for many years. I have about over 20 of the BEST True Wireless Earbuds in my Audio Collection, I listen to a lot of Music as a Hobby. I want to say first, that I did not want to write this Review because I am too busy to Write any Reviews. But after listening and trying the Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds out for 2 days, I was amazed, happy and I was blown away. These Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds do indeed sound GOOD!! Sound quality is Excellent as expected. Yes, and Earbuds come with 5 Sets of Silicone Eartips inside of the Box. But the thing is, is that Technics Silicone Earbuds are NOT made for Bass Music, by using just Silicone Eartips. Technics would have included a Pair of Foam Earbud Tips! The Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds do have some Bass, but Bass is lacking with the Silicon Earbud Tips that are included inside of the Box. As an Expert Audiophile person, I can tell that the Silicone Earbud Tips that are included in the Box do NOT produce the Bass well for all songs!!! The Silicone Earbud Tips are holding the Earbuds back from performance. On the 1st Day of buying the Technics Earbuds and trying them out the 1st day, I was NOT happy with the Bass of the Earbuds, and I was thinking about 1st Returning the Technics Earbuds to Amazon. But luckily I decided to give Technics Earbuds a Second TRY on the second day. And that is when I was BLOWN away by the REAL Music Quality of Technics True Wireless Earbuds. On the 2nd Day of TRYING the Earbuds I decided to try using "Foam EarTips", and that is when all of the BASS came a LIVE inside of the Technics True Wireless Earbuds. Oh My God!! I could NOT believe the Improved Sound Quality that Happened from just trying some "GOOD Foam Eartips". I think Technics Manufactures forgot to ADD Foam Eartips to the Technics True Wireless Package Box, it may have just been an over sight, that they missed. I have found out that if you try adding a pair of “GOOD Foam Earbuds Tips” to the Technics True Wireless Earbuds you will really see and "HEAR what GOOD Music really Sounds like". Foam Earbuds Tips give the Technics Earbuds much more Better, Cleaner, Smoother, Solid "BASS Performance" with ALL Songs and any Music. I am Serious!! I highly RECOMMEND anyone buying these Technics Earbuds, and then trying some GOOD Foam Earbuds Tips on the Technics Earbuds, and you will be Amazed in the even MORE IMPROVED Sound Quality of the Earbuds, by using Foam Earbuds Tips. By adding Foam Tips onto the Technics True Wireless Earbuds, it makes the Technics True Wireless Earbuds sound even Better than the Sony WF-1000XM3 True Wireless Earbuds. By adding Foam Tips onto the Technics True Wireless Earbuds, it makes the Technics True Wireless Earbuds sound even Better than the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless 2 Earbuds. I am Serious. Foam Earbuds Tips provide for a Better sound, and a tight seal to get a overall even Better sound signature experience along with improved noise isolation also. The noise isolation with Foam Earbuds Tips and the Ambient awareness modes, and Active Noise Cancellation features are all remarkable, making Music sound excellent!! The Sound coming from the Technics True Wireless Earbuds is awesome. Everything is Crystal Clean and Clear. I am serious. It's much better than anything else out there. The sound quality is "100% Amazing" especially when you use some Good Foam Earbuds Tips. I hope people try this for their own. I believe, the Dekoni Audio TWS Series Moldable Memory Foam Isolation Wireless Earbud Tips are Good. ~AND~ The ALXCD Replacement Foam Ear Tips for Galaxy Buds Headphone, S/M/L 3 Pairs Soft Foam Earbud Tips are Good. ~AND~ The ALXCD Foam Ear tips for Jabra Elite 65t Headphone, S/M/L 3 Size Memory Foam Ear Tips, Fit for Jabra Elite 65t Elite Active 65t are Good. These Foam tips will fit Perfectly inside of the Charging Case also. You have to make sure that the Foam Earbud tips size are SMALL, or MEDIUM. Foam Ear tips will give anyone better Noise Isolation & more Acoustics Audio Improvement on the Technics True Wireless Earbuds. These Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds are worth the money if you prioritize Audio and build quality over everything else. For a wireless experience, these Technics did a great job in bringing much better Music Sound and ANC over many other True Wireless Earbuds. There’s a lot more emphasis on the mids and highs, creating a Brighter sound Signature overall. The Midrange, this is where the Technics really Shines. Shimmering, clear, and clean. Not too thin sounding, not too thick, but just right. Surprising amounts of depth, and a great subtlety of detail that competes with even the other high-end true wireless models. Music sound leans towards a Good upper-mid emphasis, but the feeling while listening is really "Well Balanced". The delicacy up in this range makes the Technics a formidable choice for classical, jazz, folk, and other genres of music that other true wireless earbuds usually leaves behind. Maybe it’s that Digital Sound Processor (DSP) at work, but the ultra-highs actually have some resolution here. I’ll be straight up: the Technics sounds better than any other true wireless earbuds in the $200 price range. The Technics brings a lot more to the High-End Audio listening than I was expecting. I am very pleased with everything. These Technics earbuds are $199.99 cheaper in price, and Technics Earbuds have a much Better high end and midrange than the other True Wireless Earbuds. The Music in these Technics True Wireless Earbuds sound so "GOOD", that even if you take the Technics True Wireless Earbuds out of your ears and you place Technics Earbuds on a Desk/Table 2 Feet away from you with the Technics True Wireless Earbuds Volume at only 50%, you can still hear the exact Words of the Song that is playing inside of the Technics Earbuds. That is how Clear the Audio is. It sounds like 2 giant Technics Speakers playing. Foam Eartips provide Big Soundstage and enormous ability to deliver the Good thumping Bass. The Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds Sound quality is Excellent for a Bluetooth True Wireless Earbuds with Active Noise Cancelling, the True Wireless Earbuds they provide a push of tight Lows with Bass and a Nice warm midrange that goes well with any type of Music. I would say simply the sound is magnificent for Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds price. The Bass response is Excellent and the soundstage is unmatched at the price. Mids are good and lush warm and rich which makes male and female vocals a Delight and the Smooth Treble means that you will never suffer from fatigue or any sibilance. Overall, the Sound quality is well Balanced and neutral and Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds are technically very good. By using Foam Eartips the Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds sound and Audio Quality is strong with Big Bass and a full Deep Midrange. Highs are rolled off and exceptionally Nice & Smooth. I just get blown away by how realistic these things sound by using the Foam Earbuds Tips. I know you probably wondering what am I talking about? Well, I did a BASS Song Test with the Song called "Sunrise by Simply Red". In that Song, there is a lot of Bass. If you listen to that Song with the included Medium or Large Silicone Eartips, you will hear how Bad, or Tinny the BASS sounds in the Technics Earbuds. But if you try again, and you use Foam Eartips and listen to the same Song called "Sunrise by Simply Red", you will then hear how much 10x's Better and more Alive the Bass sounds in Music using Foam Eartips. If you listen to that song for the whole 3 minutes, it will literally sound like you are at a Music Concert, music is Crystal Clear, when using Foam Eartips on the Technics Earbuds. When you use Foam Eartips you will hear the Immediate Difference, or you will hear the immediate Sound Improvement when listening to any type of Music. I am Serious. The Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds are designed to deliver a Dynamic Feeling. When listening to Music using the Foam Eartips, it then sounds like the Technics Sound Music is reaching down into your Soul. You can feel the Music inside of you, and the Technics Music will connect with you Incredibly from using Foam Eartips. I would say by using any of the Foam Tips that I have mentioned, The Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds create some of the Most Immersive and Realistic Hi-Fi Sound possible. "If you use Foam Earbuds Tips, the Music will then sound like you are inside of a Music Recording Studio." Try it. I am serious. If you buy these Technics True Wireless Earbuds, do yourself a Favor and purchase or invest in some Good $6.99 or $8.99 Amazon.com Foam Eartips like I did, and you will hear the "Improved Sound Quality" that I am talking about. I think the ALXCD Foam Eartips for Jabra Elite 65t Headphone, S/M/L 3 Size Memory Foam Ear Tips are the Best. From using Good Foam Earbud Tips, I have found that the Technics EAH-AZ70W True Wireless Earbuds really deliver Rich, Expansive Sound with Smooth, Detailed Highs and nice, tight, articulate Bass to "Hear ANY Music as it was intended." I have found out that the Technics EAH-AZ70W True Wireless Earbuds really have Audiophile-Grade Sound! I hope the Technics Engineers, Technics Makers or Technics Designers of these Technics Earbuds Read this Review and People try TESTING out their Technics True Wireless Earbuds with some "GOOD Foam Earbuds Tips" as I mentioned, and they too will see & hear exactly how much Better the Technics True Wireless Earbuds Really Sound. The Key to the Absolutely #1 BEST Sounding Earbuds in the entire World is by using Foam Earbuds Tips on the Technics True Wireless Earbuds. "I am Serious". The Foam Earbuds Tips that I have mentioned above make a HUGE Audio Improvement to the Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds. I would say that Technics AZ70 True Wireless Earbuds are the Best sounding Earphones, or BEST True Wireless Earbuds that I have ever tested. I Highly Recommend them.

Touchy touch controls ruined these for me.
There's a lot to like about these buds: Great sound, great noise cancellation, competitive set of features for the price, cool Technics design/pedigree. In the so-so column: They're on the bulkier side (but by design). They slid a bit out of my ears with the repetitive motion of walking down a flight of steps (but stayed in place). Battery life is on the average/low end (about 5.75 hours on a single charge for me, with active noise canceling turned off). They're fiddly to get out of the case. But none of these were deal-breakers for me. The touch controls were the deal-breaker. They're easy enough to learn, if not super-logical--but responsive to a fault. Trying to nail down the difference between a tap and a touch, for example, or a double-tap and triple-tap is tough--and just frustrating after a while. Any minor adjustment of/slight contact with the buds can (will) trigger some unwanted action. The first time this happened to me (as I was seating them in my ear, for f's sake) the buds activated my phone's voice control, which picked up some background TV noise, which the phone registered as a command to dial somebody I haven't spoken to for 6 years--all in the span of about 2 seconds. The next morning, the same thing happened. Both of these awkward moments were triggered by a single touch of the buds--so I just returned them. Is this normal for capacitive touch controls, especially on earbuds? Maybe. But this was pretty extreme. If Panasonic/Technics allowed users to program their own controls, it might help. Or just added a *little* latency. As it stands, the touch controls just interfere with the listening experience.

Great sound with a but
The technics have a great overall sound, the app allows you to customize to your preferences, so that you can adjust the bass, the guitars the vocals they way you like, that is a great plus. I think there are a few buts for me with these earbuds, I want to make sure that I liked the sound and that made me think twice about returning them, none the less there's an issue which might be a factory issue (I hope, otherwise it's a big problem with these earbuds), I'll name the buts in this product: 1. Sound is great and customizable BUT, I am a bass lover, and there's an interference-like sound that is permanently there when you turn up the bass and impossible to ignore when the bass sounds, it only shows up when you're using the noise cancellation, some people might be able to ignore it, but I just can't, again, this might be a factory problem for my particular set, not sure. 2. The case is big, not impossible to carry in a pocket, but easily noticable, some peaople might not be comfortable to carry these, because of this, they're not that manageable in movement, so use in public transport is not that easy. 3. I don't really mind much about noise cancellation and these are the first buds I get with this feature. The feature to switch from full noise cancellation to ambient sound is awesome, I have to say and from other reviews I saw before purchasing, noise cancellation is not perfect and if you're looking for absolute silence, this may not provide. On the other hand, ambient sound still makes people voices hard to hear, it mainly allows to hear cars and ambulances. 4. The controls, I loved the controls, I have a very soft touch and I am very careful so using the controls was not difficult and I loved the fact that you can personalize the controls. Nonetheless, for people that is a bit clumpsy I'm most sure they'll have problems controling these. An issue I found that really bugged me is that I have long hair, and I practice sports, so that when my hair was sweaty the controls would activate permanently with the touch of my hair! Yes, the controls are that sensitive! and there was no way to overide this. 5. Battery, battery stored within the earbuds is pretty fine for me, at least 6 full hours with noise cancellation. Nonetheless, I would expect the case to store more battery considering the size it has, another down side is that charging the case completely takes loooong time, I'd say no less than 3.5 h. So if you're planning on using these in a silent environment you'll get a great audio experience if you don't mind about the bass too much or if you can ignore the slight interference with noise cancellation.

Roll of the dice and worth the wait!
I have always been a fan of Panasonic products. Their products build quality, longevity, and function have always been near the top. These ear buds from the high end Technics line is no different. I work in sales and service and I am constantly on the phone dealing with highly technical troubleshooting or pricing out a project. Due to Covid and my work situation at home with everyone being home now, I needed a few key features: 1. Noise Cancellation that not only worked but worked well. -These are absolutely as good if not better than the Air Pod Pro's and seem to be on par with most over the ear units I have tried. If you want to shut the world around you out these will do it. 2. I needed something that would allow me to hear what was going on around me without taking them out. -The Technics Audio Connect app allows you to turn up the ambient noise around you so you can keep track of your environment. Its a life saver when working in the field trying to work with staff on the ground while getting technical support off site to resolve an issue. This also comes in handy when trying to work from home and you have to keep an ear to the ground for siblings fighting or getting into trouble. 3. They needed to stay in my ears! - Air Pods and Air Pod Pros did not stay in my ears reliably. I was always dropping one or the other. The Technics come with several options to tailor the fit and keep them snug. That being said not sure how well they would hold up to running or jogging. So far the fit and feel is pretty darn good. 4. Battery Life -Nothing worse than having to constantly put headphones back in their case to charge all the time. So far I am getting between 5-6 hours between charges. This is mostly phone calls with some music in between. Previous units I have used 2-3 hours tops before needing a charge. 5. Sound Quality when making phone calls -I would say this is probably not quite up to par with Air Pods or Air Pod Pros. It is definitely not bad or poor but I was hoping it would be on par and probably the most disappointing thing with these buds. *I should also note that my phone is on its last leg and a new one is due to arrive any day now. While I doubt the phone has anything to do with it, I may update this due to improvements. Other things I have found good to great: -The app is basic but functional. Easy to use and operates all of the key features and allows you to tailor your music with bass boost or an equalizer. -Music is amazing and much better than anything I have tried. Very good reproduction. -Pairing was easy and transitions between car and buds is seamless. Connection upon removing from the case and putting them in your ears is instant. -Distance and connection strength is easily 50ft+ with no distortion or drop in quality. -Touch functions are intuitive and easy to learn. So far they always work and have a quick response. If your looking for great all around buds with great noise cancellation, this might be the product for you.

Not ready for prime time yet
===UPDATE=== I repurchased Technics as heard many people claiming the noise cancellation was actually were good for them. I can confirm that in fact that a new pair did in fact had much better noise cancellation than a first pair that I got. BUT ... I started seeing problem with a battery, right earbud would discharge much faster then a left one. In my case right earbud lasted only 50 min from 100% charged to completely dead when it shut down. At the same time left earbud that was used at the same time still had 80% battery life. Reset of earbuds didn’t help. So Amazon sent me a replacement pair which unfortunately had an entirely different battery issue. On the 3rd pair, left earbud was constantly charging (red LED would stay on at all time) but it would never disconnect from the device and that resulted not only having audio played while earbud was in the case but also causing draining case’s battery in one day similar to Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless original which were experiencing battery drain issue while in a case. Connecting with Technics support while checking about a problem with buds battery discharging differently and draining the case power while staying in the case. I got following respond. “1) Battery consumption depends on the radio wave condition / usage and it is not equal between the right and left earbud under varying circumstances. 2) When put into the charging case, the earbuds will be set to Standby mode instead of Power off mode. The earbuds will not completely turn off. They will continuously check the charging status while they are inside of the charging case. 3) If you leave the earbuds inside of your fully charged charging case, the battery level of the charging case becomes low or almost empty after 10 to 12 days of no use. This is because the charging case is constantly checking the status of the earbuds and consumes some amount of battery energy. This is normal condition.” Therefore after 3 unsuccessful attempts to get working pair of earbuds, I returned them. This item isn’t ready for prime time and should be revisited. I don’t recommend them. ============= Let me start with Pros. 1. Excellent sound, much, much better than anything else on the market today. I compared them to Sennheiser Momentum TWS 2, AirPod Pro, Jabra 75t, Galaxy Buds+. 2. Excellent structured App that offers full control over earbuds. Tuner and bass/voice presets works excellent. 3. Very comfortable and they are not falling out during walking. 4. Solid metal case and USB-C charging. 5. Awareness sound is natural. Cons: 1. Noise cancellation is not working at all. It does not even block humming sound, i. e. fan, A/C. Turning noise cancelling on only makes sounds fuller but that about it. Without noise cancellation earbuds sound tiny. Sennheiser TWS 2 are the best in noise cancellation. I need noise cancellation and due to absence (not working) function, I returned them.

Best Kept Secret. Get it While You Can!
I read a lot of reviews, and listened to a lot of youtube videos. These older headphones are the best compared to other ones I had. That includes the Sony WH-1000XM4, Samsung Galaxy Pro, Galaxy Buds + and Apple 3rd gen. This has a 10mm driver, that is the biggest on the market. Even market leader Sony WF-1000XM4 is 6mm driver. The Good: Sound quality: This is subjective, but in order of what appears to be "good sound", would say these are up there with Apple 3rd gen. Close behind is Sony WF-1000XM4 then the Galaxy Pro and +. Noise cancellation: These are very good. Driving at freeway with windows down these works good. Is not completely silent, but enough to the edge off the noise even when passing by heavy trucks. Don't need to set cancellation on max like a lot of the reviewer. Telephone: This is the key one for me at work. Other noise-cancellation headphones like Sony WF-1000XM4 and Galaxy Pro are almost unusable because you cannot hear yourself talk. They do not feel natural. The headphones I have that do not have noise-cancellation on the other hand works good like the Apple 3rd gen and the Galaxy +. This one has the best of both worlds. It has noise-cancellation, and is almost as good as those non-noise cancellation headphones in terms of hearing yourself talk. The official term is sidetone. Good enough to feel almost natural. Phone voice quality for the listener: This is the real reason I got this one. Phone voice quality sounds the most natural. On youtube, is even better than Bose or Jabra that is the market leader for phone headsets. All the other headphones sounds somewhat robotic. Quality: The box is metallic, and is really nice and solid. The Bad: Falling Off: These are larger and heavier than Apple. Is similar to Sony. The silicon eartips works good on the right ear, but tend to fall off on the left ear. After many tries, found if I need to orient it exactly vertical and rotate them slightly to the front, then they stays in. Hard to Take Out: Apple and Samsung are very easy to take out of the box. Sony a little harder. These are hard to take out unless you do it just right. There is a opening to put the finger in, then pull forward from the top. See picture. Does not have wireless charging, but no big deal. All of these are minor annoyance. Ear tips: Stock ones tend to fall out for me unless is exactly positioned just right. Comply Truegrip Pro foam grip fixed the fall out issue, but still not very secure. However, the sound quality is brilliant with the foam tips. Panasonic PNZSDAZ70K tips worked great. Made the earbud stay in like it is supposed to and sounds great. Technics should have came with these in the first place.

Totally Disappointed
I am sad to give a bad review about this earbuds because Technics it was one the brand I respect for years. But I have to be Honest. This Earbuds are far away to be audiophile grade. Its true that they have a very good response to the high end frequencies, but on the low end frequency response is another history, so sad an poor bass response, I was so surprised of that terrible bass, that even try to used memory foam eartips looking for a better enclose. But it was the same. Really guys I have 30 bucks earbuds that have better bass that this ones, what a shame. They fit very well at least in my ears in they are confortable you can used all day long for sure. The battery also works less than advertised for both earbuds and case. The ANC is decent but not the best for the price, they also have some connectivity issue that create interference and disconnections, but is not often happen to me 2 or 3 times and fixed by itself in 10 - 15 secs. My conclusion do not purchase this earbuds if you are and audiophile, do not purchase this earbuds if you are a bass lover. for the rest of the things I believe you can find the same for a cheaper price. Sorry Technics....

Almost perfect.
These are the best sounding TWS earbuds I have ever listened to. Period. The best way I can describe them is "effortless and delicate"; they are very well balanced and to my ears, follow the Harman target quite closely with a slight emphasis on the treble. Don't let the AAC codec fool you, these buds are highly resolving. I almost cannot believe they are Bluetooth and not wired. There is no weird sibilance and these hold up under busy tracks. The ANC is amazing and bad at the same time. Let me explain; the ANC is very very good, it's almost uncanny actually. But, the ANC has a fatal flaw, and it is the sole cause on why I'm returning them (I bought them with ANC as priority). The problem is in a somewhat quiet environments, the ANC processes an annoying hiss that frustrates me to no end. I am very sensitive to sound so this might not bug you, but it bugs me. However, if you use ANC in actual noisy environments, then it works very well. The hiss might be a firmware issue, no idea, but I don't buy things hoping for a firmware fix. You shouldn't either. Personally, I like to turn on ANC and listen to no music while I study, and the hiss bothers me too much. But for most of you, these are amazing. These are worth the price tag just for the audio quality alone. Technics is back folks.
