AMAZINGLY good mic for the money!!
I've owned many mics over the years and this cheap Behringer sounds just as good as classic old AKG dynamics I've owned like the D202 & certainly performs WAY beyond what you'd expect for the small price tag of just £39.00 GBP. Frankly I wasn't expecting much, but saw it for a low price while ordering some other gear & though I'd try it. The results after using it in a pro session recently where VERY surprising! On guitar cabinet pointing directly at the speaker cone centre it yielded a very detailed and crisp clear sound recording, no doubt in part because of the built-in high-midrange/treble area boost this mic exhibits. I also mic'd up the guitar cabinet in that session with a ribbon mic off-axis to get a more fat mellow sound and the crisp edgy Behringer mic sound blends with the fatter ribbon mic sound perfectly to give me a wide choice of guitar tones in the final mix by adjusting the balance between the two (and that is before any EQ or other processing is used). I now would like to experiment with this mic further on guitar cabinet in different mic positions to see how it delivers off-axis from the speaker cone. I'd also like to try it on things like snare & toms to see what else it can do. A real surprise! I've never used Behringer mics before although I own quite a few other Behringer products including the UMC1920, ADA8200, SX2442FX mixer & a range of Behringer guitar pedals. Recommended!! I will now definitely be trying some of Behringer's other mics!

GREAT LITTLE MICROPHONE
I took a chance that it was a Behringer B906 because other reviews were questioning if it was the right product because the spec is for a gooseneck type mic. But I’m glad to say it’s exactly what I wanted to mic up my guitar amplifier and the sound is really good, lightweight and comes in a handy carry case.

Great and cheap solution to live mic for an amp
I wasn't expecting much for £40, but thought I would give this mic a try at a small live gig. I hung it in front of my little Pro Junior amp, and it was absolutely great, no issues at all. Will definitely use it live again, not sure if it has the quality for a studio mic, but in a live situation it performed perfectly.

Good value and adaptable
Sound quality is good - can be used for a number of applications including recording a live vocal, where it’s side address style is very useful (pop shield is essential though as this is quite a ‘hot’ mic). Seems sturdy enough construction and comes nicely boxed with its own mic holder. Most pleasing aspect is the clarity of vocal sound - quite taken aback by that considering this is a 30 quid mic! Very adaptable and a useful addition to my home recording gear.

As Good As The e906
A very good alterntaive to the Sennheiser e906. If all you use this for is basic home recording for uploads, projects or small gigs it will be just fine. I use it it to record short vids for You Tube, so its perfect for that.

Impressive performance, affordable price!
I wanted to have a backup for my $200 Sennheiser e906. I gig a lot, I bring my own microphones, and I don't want to be carry around an expensive (for my budget) microphone. I saw the price of the Behringer b906, and I figured I would just return it if it was cheaply made or if it sounded bad. I used it this weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. It's built very sold: cast metal body and metal grill. It sounded great on my guitar amp - two gigs, no issues. Just to do some comparison, I set up my amp in my studio, and recorded some tracks using both my e906 and the b906, and I A/B'd them using both an RTA and my ears. I kept the both mics 'flat' (did not use the switch to boost or cut anything). I was surprised at the results. Looking at the graphs from the RTA, there are some minor differences, but nothing really glaring (no odd peaks or valleys on the graph). And, just simply using my ears, I noticed that the b906 was a little 'darker' and had slightly more gain (volume not distortion) than the e906. Conclusion, I will definitely keep this mic, and will definitely use it in any live situation that I would ordinarily use the e906. I'll keep that one safe at home. The real proof will be how long it holds up in an on-the-road gigging situation. Only time will tell, but I will be putting it to the test.
