Small, sturdy and nice looking box for odds and ends
For long hours of business driving in my small SUV, I needed something for collecting all kinds of small items on the passenger seat. This box was easily assembled and holds all those odds and ends that I would like to have available with one grip. I tie it down with the seatbelt, so everything stays in place and have easy access when I quickly need a flashlight, a drink, a small item to eat etc. Very happy.

Kirigen products are my favorite!
I have a bunch of stuff from this company and really like the quality and look. This time I painted some of the panels before assembling and am happy with how it turned out. The wood takes paint or stain very well. I got the natural finish, by the way. The wood Kirigen uses is somewhere between balsa wood and pine as far as density goes, yet it's still pretty sturdy. I just wouldn't use their stuff in an area that's going to take a major beating. I feel comfortable putting these in my son's room for toy storage though, if that gives you any idea of my confidence. The nice thing about the light-weight wood is that it, well, weighs less.Problems: There was one small flaw on one panel, not sure what it was, looked like some grey caulking but it was really small and I probably only noticed because I was getting so personal with these things. Also, the felt stickers were too big. The bottom panel is inset a little bit and the edge only has space for a 1/4" felt stickers but the ones they give you are 1/2" so you either cut a wedge out or fold them down a bit.Assembly is zero problem, I don't know what people are complaining about. Can you insert 12 screws? Then you can slap these together in five minutes each.

Despite Amazon screwing up the order, the box is very nice
So, while I was ordering this box Amazon pointed out that it comes in a manufacturers box and offered the option of placing it inside an Amazon box... which I selected... and which Amazon ignored. However, the box only has the manufacturer's name with no pictures or descriptors, so it's okay to save the grief and accept the original box.As to the box itself, it's very nice! All of the screw holes are predrilled, and the pieces are routed so the bottom is secure once assembled. The instructions and diagrams are clear though, as usual with assembly instructions, the font is on the small side. Though the instructions come in Chinese and English, happily each language has a separated sheet. A third sheet of notices (in TEN languages) contains important information like, 'wood grain may vary on this natural wood box' and 'if you drop this box it may break' and 'keep your nice wooden box away from fire or it may be damaged.' Not needed in my opinion, but I assume they know their usual customers, and I don't.When ordering, I thought the price might be a bit high. Once the package arrived, I decided the price was appropriate for a very well-made product. I recommend this item!

Very versatile product
I've got 5 of these storage cubes now, and generally I really like them. They are real wood of some undetermined sort, and I found them easy to assemble (some of the screws were tight and needed a bit of wrist strength). They can be used upright as a "milk crate"--I took one along while traveling for work, and it toted a stack of books around with me very well. Since the cubes are light, they don't add much weight to whatever you're hauling around. They can also be used on their sides, to make shelves or storage bins, where they'll hold a tall item and don't tip too easily. With this versatility, these cubes give you a lot of options for storage and moving. My one concern is the lightness of the wood. At the moment the screws hold well, but I'm a little worried that over time the screws will loosen up and the crates will get wobbly. I'll try to provide an update on this in the future.

Get rid of the intense VOC smell with wood soap
The wood stain smell was overpowering when I unwrapped it. After assembling outdoors and letting it sit there for 2 days, it still reeked so I finally washed the box with wood soap. In the process, saw that there was a crack in one corner that must have occurred putting the screws in. I think in another day or so I can bring it inside and actually put things in the crate. It looks fairly nice and seems reasonably sturdy for light items, but given the high price and the hassle, would never buy again.

Beautiful and strong
I stained with walnut chestnut color by mimwax. I added a hinged cutting board 16x16 for lid. It's a stand for my sasquatch , ol Harry himself.

Looks nice but is very light weight and not strong wood.
Looks good but is super light weight. Not sure what kinda wood this is but it feels like styrofoam. Will see how it holds up. Easy to put together.

Very easy to assemble, looks great
The box looks great, and I’d absolutely recommend it. Make sure you note that it comes in pieces that need to be assembled- I missed that bit, but all you need is a screwdriver to put it together.

Too expensive
Way too expensive for the quality of the wood.
