I write few reviews; this is great! This is the best drinking cocoa around. High-end chocolate. An American based companyusing original formulas and traditional French methods. The company was founded in 1868 and is headquartered in Burlingame, California. It is the oldest continuously family-owned chocolate company in the United States, having been family-owned for more than four generations. They have a great website, too. Put it in a cup, add hot water to make smooth paste then put in your choice of milk, coffee, rum, whatever. Goes great in a Smoothie. & on ice cream. Doesn't even require much sugar! I suggest a small amount of real maple syrup. BTW the one with the gold label is for cooking with.

I am addicted to this and drink hot cocoa every day! I like how dark it is but the best part is the flavor.

I use Guittard’s Cocoa Rouge for baking, smoothies, and for unsweetened rich chocolate flavored hot cocoa. This shipment came in well packaged with each cylinder of cocoa wrapped in bubble wrap then sealed in plastic envelope and then placed in a shipping box. Prior shipments from from Amazon had been shipped in a thin box with containers upside down which meant that many shipments had containers explode open. So whoever shipped this took the time to package it correctly. The price is much better than in the past and for high quality cocoa, it is worth it.

Best Easy to use. I like to use milk for my hot or cold chocolate but I first mix cocoa and sweetener in the cup, run just enough hot water from my instant hot tap. stir to dissolve completely, then add milk to top of cup. Heat in microwave, or add ice. Either way it’s delicious rich flavor i’d unbeatable. It also makes the best chocolate pudding.

I've been ordering Guittard Roughe cocoa for years. I drink it every morning. the last batch I got from this vendor (I've used different vendors) was not the same. It's lighter in color (not deep red brown) and not as rich. Seems to be grainier. I will not order from this vendor again. By the way, the lot number is 1-025-5N. It could be a batch problem but the vendor did not offer to send a different batch.
