Scanned all my old documents / bills etc without any pain into my computer - pdf files. ( A note explaining that the 90 degree shield need not be up would have helped and speeded up the simple process). I may have just missed it! First class unit from Brother as usual.

bought for our accounts department and they think its great. They are busy throwing tiny receipts and anything else through it and say its works great. From their feedback would strongly recommend

This was a good upgrade for my Brother DS 620 but it does not have a carrying pouch. I can fit it into the DS620 pouch fortunately but a portable scanner without a protective carrier is a bad idea. The cable supplied with it is too short for use and you need to be careful to buy a high quality longer cable or the scanner will not work. That said it is a great scanner for scanning. Brother just cheated with no carrying protective pouch big time and a too short cable to some extent. Had I not had a carrier already it would have been a problem.

This is a nifty piece of kit which not only does what it is supposed to do, but it does it very well. Very impressive!!

Der Brother DS-740 ist ein kompakter und mobiler Scanner, der sich besonders für den privaten Haushalt und für Personen eignet, die unterwegs Dokumente digitalisieren müssen. Er bietet eine solide Leistung bei gleichzeitig platzsparendem Design. Einrichtung und Treiber Die Installation funktioniert reibungslos, sobald das vollständige Treiber- und Softwarepaket von der Brother-Seite geladen wird (Kpl. Treiber & Software Paket). Wer nur das iPrintScan-Setup installiert, erhält eine Fehlermeldung wegen eines Übertragungsfehlers. Mit dem kompletten Treiberpaket läuft der Scanner stabil und ohne Probleme. Bedienung und Nutzung Normales Papier kann über die obere Klappe geführt werden, sodass es nach oben ausgegeben wird. Bei dickerem Papier empfiehlt es sich, die Führungsschiene nicht zu verwenden. Für schnelles Scannen vieler Dokumente lässt sich der Start-Stop-Knopf direkt am Gerät nutzen. Nach wenigen Sekunden wird das Dokument automatisch gescannt und gespeichert, ohne dass man jedes Mal am Rechner bestätigen muss. Ein Kritikpunkt ist das Popup-Fenster auf dem Display, das nach jedem Scan manuell geschlossen werden muss. Bei großen Mengen von Dokumenten summiert sich das zu unnötigem Zeitaufwand. Design und Mobilität Der Scanner ist klein und leicht, wodurch er sich gut verstauen lässt. Besonders praktisch ist, dass man ihn nach getaner Arbeit einfach in der Schublade verschwinden lassen kann – ideal für Haushalte mit wenig Platz. Allerdings setzt Brother nicht auf ein übliches USB-C-Kabel, sondern auf ein spezielles Kabel. Das schmälert die Flexibilität, da man ein zusätzliches Kabel mitführen muss. Leistung und Einsatzbereiche Mit einer Geschwindigkeit von bis zu 15 Seiten pro Minute ist der Scanner für gelegentliche Nutzung mehr als ausreichend. Für den täglichen Einsatz oder für Büros mit hohem Scanvolumen ist ein stationäres Gerät besser geeignet, da dort die Papierausrichtung komfortabler ist. Für den privaten Haushalt oder für Personen, die unterwegs arbeiten, ist der DS-740 eine sehr gute Lösung. Kompatibilität Der Hersteller gibt an, dass neben Windows auch Linux und macOS unterstützt werden. Dies konnte bisher nicht getestet werden, soll aber bald erfolgen.

Me ha sorprendido gratamente, estoy muy contenta con el producto. Ocupa poco, escanea a 2 caras de forma rápida, documentos, tarjetas, DNI, fotos ... y con buena resolución. Si necesitas un escaner rápido y fácil de usar, este es magnífico.

Scanner vraiment au top du top et ne prend que peu de place. Parfait pour un usage personnel.
