About the Artist Putumayo World Music was established in 1993 to introduce people to the music of the world's cultures. The label grew out of Putumayo clothing company, founded by Dan Storper in 1975 and sold in 1997. great songs!
This CD has terrific songs, that can only come from the creative folks at Sesame Street. My daughter and I particularly love the DVD that comes with it, because it is so fun to see how kids in other countries, from Russia to India, get to enjoy the show! I highly recommend this CD - it is much better than lots of the other random kids music out there.

Great CD
I am impressed with this cd. My daughter and I both love the music and beats in all the songs. Granted, we don't really know what they're saying, but if you know the Sesame Street songs, then you'll get a kick out of listening to them in other languages! AWESOME CD!!

My son loves this cd/dvd. I grew up watching Sesame Street. This cd/dvd is very diverse and encourgage one to learn different languages. Also it promotes learning through music.

Amazing CD & DVD
My 10-month-old loves this CD and the DVD - bordering on obsession. Because it's multilingual I feel a little less guilty about letting her watch TV. The DVD only runs about 10 minutes anyway. And as long as the CD is playing when we're in the car, she is content -- no matter how long the trip. We have several Putumayo CDs and a few Sesame DVDs, but this is pretty much the only CD or DVD we end up playing.

Putamayo quality
My 5 year old daughter first watched the DVD that accompanies the CD and I explained to her what the songs were talking about when they were in a foreign language. She was intrigued and the next day we listened to the whole CD. Now she plays it on her own and sings along even when the songs aren't in English. Nice variety of musical styles.

Good, but, not five stars.
We have only listened to the CD because I don't let my toddler watch TV yet. The CD overall is good, but I cannot overlook a few things: the opening Sesame Street song in Dutch is VERY short, but of course it counts as its own track. Furthermore, the entire CD is not even 30 minutes long, which is a little ridiculous in my opinion. The Rubber Duckie song in Chinese is flat out awful. The guy does not even attempt a "Muppet-y" (Ernie) voice at all, and is not in sync with the music. Toward the end of the song, he is just completely off. I understand that synching up Chinese lyrics for a song written in English might be tough, but he doesn't even come in at the right times, not to mention, this is a professional CD, right? it sounds like they handed a random guy off the street the music and went with the first take. If you know the first thing about good music, this will probably bother you as much as it does me. Last, while I enjoy the songs in English, I guess I didn't expect there to be three on a CD of 13, including Elmo's Song, which is not at all "worldly" or "multicultural." Again, nothing wrong with the song itself, but come on. Overall I do like the CD, but it is not perfect or deserving of 5 stars.
