Lifts seat to perfect height
We have several Jeeps in n this house. From M715, CJ5, YJ and TJ so I've seen my fair share of garbage products available for Jeeps. This one is simple but a nice "upgrade" for the TJ's low seat height. The product is from Rough Country so expect a decent quality product. Lift pucks are dense plastic and will likely last longer than you'll own your Jeep. On a TJ the rear torx bit will be a T50, not 55 stated in the instructions. The hardware is good quality and my kit had the right # of bolts and washers,so no additional hardware store runs should be needed. Do yourself a favor and PB BLAST the crap out of the exposed seat bolts from under the Jeep before starting the project, you'll save yourself some grief. Naturally, as with any of my "simple" Jeep projects, an original seat bolt snapped on removal. Turning a 30 min project to a 2 hour one. Also, if you don't have an adjustable steering column, getting your legs through the space between the steering wheel and seat might be tight, especially if you have ham hocks for thighs. I'm 6'1" 200lbs but the one inch seat boost makes a nice difference. I'm happy.

A solid product
Works as advertised and easy to install. Took me all of 20 minutes and the results were surprisingly good. Field of vision is improved and I can now see the entirety of the hood. For reference, I’m 5’10”. Would recommend.

Like The Height
Just the right amount of height for my 03 TJ. Made a big difference in sight path over the hood. I'm 5'7" so it worked great for me. Wife likes her view to.

What guy couldn't use another inch or so...
in the ride height of their tj seat that is. with more than enough headroom (for me, anyways) in my 2006, i decided to give the seat a lift. the riser kit from RC is pretty straight-forward, and can be easily understood and installed, even without directions.i removed the seats, vacuumed underneath, and inserted the spacers, and new hardware. start to finish, this was about a 30 minute job, including the vacuum time. the added height, while only an inch and a quarter, is quickly noticeable, as soon as you sit in the lifted seat. tighten the bolts down securely (i put blue loctite on mine) and enjoy the increased visibility, across the front of the hood.maybe a touch pricey, with the included hardware, i'd rather use these, than to fabricate something from scratch. for the guys complaining about price, i'd say "just don't buy them". they worked for me, and i'd consider it money well spent.

Really helped
My 2006 wrangler TJ seat rode very low. I read from research that it was because of the airbag. I am 6 foot two and I felt like I was sitting on the floor. The seat risers were super easy to install and worked perfectly and now I sit up like a big boy! Highly recommend!

What a Major Difference!
Thank goodness for these! When i first bought my '05 Rubicon, it had standard height seating. It was horrible! It was way too low. These Rough Country 1.25" Risers made the seats an awesome height. Being taller in seat is such a big difference. I can see my front end and it just feels better overall, especially when i have to almost jump in the Jeep. Kinda feels like it should be like that.I've had these on for 1 1/2 years. They've stood up just fine. They only thing that is a MUST DO, is you need to tighten the bolts from time to time. They do tend to loosen up since Wranglers are a rougher ride. It's never gotten to the point where i felt i was in trouble. Usually i'll start hearing them squeak a little, then i know it's time.Installing the Risers was not simple. Nothing is. I highly recommend spraying down the old bolts with PB Blaster or WD-40 a couple of times, prior to when you actually want to do the work. In fact, i did do that and i still had to cut the bolts off with a grinder. Plan on things not going to plan. Once things are off, it's not so bad.I should also note that there is one odd size bolt for each seat. Not sure what the purpose of that is. Height under the tub maybe? I don't know. Just make sure you have a socket set that has options. You'll even need a deep socket, depending on the year of your Jeep, because the plastic footings of the seats are a pain and they retract against your hand/tools with springs.Overall, very happy with these. I would like to see Rough Country lower the price, however. That's the only reason why i didn't give 5 Stars. I paid $30 for PVC and screws. Should be no more than $20.
