WORKS
Handle grip is comfortable and sturdy, it works. The one I got has a painted orange head instead of grey like the picture but that doesn't mean anything to me. Breaks through every concrete block I've smashed with it in 1 shot, not just breaks them but shatters them. My new favorite hammer for work and worth paying more for the shipping than the hammer itself cost.

25% more bad-a55 than my 16 lb hammer
This review applies to the 20 lb Truper sledge with hickory handle. First off, if you've only operated 8 lb hammers in the past, you may want to consider the 12 or 16 lb first, as this thing is not a toy. Every time you swing it takes a little bit of your life force away, so you want to maximize your return by being proficient. That being said, there is a marked increase in effectiveness compared to even my 16 lb hammer, and this thing will do things that 8 and 10 pounders simply cannot do. I used it to break 8-10" thick fiber mesh reinforced concrete, which took about a week off my life, but would have been impossible with a 10 or 12 pounder. I also use hammers to bend the hooks on tow straps so they fit through stake pockets. A clean level hit with this hammer makes serious progress every time, and I can bend a hook in as few as 5 or 6 hits with this beast. Great purchase, great hammer.

Exceptional Sledge Hammer!
Never have owned a sledgehammer before, so I can't compare it to anything else. But let me just say this thing is a pure joy to hold, lift, and slam down on anything that can be slammed down upon!! Granted it's heavy at 10 lbs, but any full-grown hombre should be able to handle it once put to proper use. I use it primarily for splitting wood here at house. In conjunction with the [Estwing Sure-Split Wedge], I have been using it to split large or bulky pieces of wood into smaller fireplace/fire-pit friendly cords of firewood. Everything from pine, almond, oak, and eucalyptus, this sledge has proven reliable to drive the wedge and split all sorts of wood.I would say the sledge is rock-solid, but I believe it's at another level beyond that. It's THAT solid and sturdy. I'm confident it could handle any other task a sledge would be needed for (taking down walls, driving fence posts into the ground, hammering railroad spikes - anyone still do that??).I'll conclude by saying I've been looking for an old truck tire to combine it with the sledge and get a great workout. There's reports all over the web sledgehammers are a great workout (but you need that the tire first!!).

A really honking big hammer
I bought this so that my city-boy sons could split some wood for me when they came home to visit. They had so much fun splitting wood; suddenly my big boys were toddlers again, hitting things as hard a they could, just to get them to break. Which, I suppose, is the point. We had some very large-diameter trees the boys had cut into logs; this sledgehammer pounded a wedge deep into wood with a single swing. We've only used it on one day so far, but it works great. The shaft is strong but has enough of a give to it so that when you make contact the shock doesn't travel through your body. I think the boys preferred the Fiskars splitting axe I got them, but for big pieces, this was great!

Good price and durable
I needed a 20lb sledgehammer for a track repair on my loader. I’m not a fan of wooden handles. However this one is holding up really well. It’s gotten some use. The price is reasonable & even better with free shipping.
