I just started this course with my daughter and it’s going really well. It’s written for classroom teachers but I find it easy to adapt to homeschooling. My daughter likes the interactive activities to prepare for handwritten handwriting and is quickly learning the “rules” for different letters as taught by this course. I’m looking forward to continuing and can highly recommend this course.

I bought this to use with a student who had abysmal handwriting. He was a little old for the book, 5th grade vs 2nd, but he genuinely enjoyed the handwriting lessons, and his handwriting absolutely improved!

These books were exactly what I needed to help my homeschool kiddos work on their handwriting. This curriculum is understandable and challenging.

My daughter is 8, has ADHD, and has struggled a bit with the legibility of her handwriting. Handwriting Without Tears was suggested by a friend. The lessons are short and simple. We have been doing 3 lessons at a time. The lessons are helping to remind my daughter how to form the letters and the practice amount seems perfect for her attention span. The teacher guide references a website with more instructions, but it requires an email and a subscription fee in order to access those additional resources. I have not signed up or paid for those additional resources. Overall I would recommend this writing curriculum to others with children in early elementary years and especially to those with ADHD. The simple, structured, short lessons are exactly what I had been hoping for.

Missing pencils. Both curriculums that I’ve ordered did not have the little pencils. Found the curriculum to be what we needed. How can we get the pencils though?! Found it to be geared to a classroom not homeschool. Keeping because kids enjoy it and are excited to start school. Fun bright colors of teal on the covered for second grade and yellow for first.

I love that this includes a guide for parents (or teachers), the practice book for the child, pencils, and a journal for additional practice! So many great tools for handwriting success.

Every child is different… just keep that in mind. My son is 8 and has been using this during his second grade year of homeschooling. He struggled to write since preschool. He COULD write but struggled. Handwriting Without Tears has changed everything this year! Something about this curriculum just “clicked” with him. He has been able to understand and utilize this handwriting program with ease. I’m so thankful for HWT!!

Does what it says it'll do. They can handwrite now. :D
