An exceptionally useful guide to Business Model Innovation
The advent of COVID-19 posed serious challenges for our business, but we also saw interesting new opportunities created by the broad structural economic shifts that are occurring and changes in the preferences and needs of our customers. These changes have led us to rethink and reimagine how we should do business. Amit and Zottโs book has helped us a lot in this regard. It provides the necessary structure and discipline, both in terms of concepts as well as process, to think through the redesign of a business model. I would therefore recommend it as a โmust-readโ for all those who are involved in designing and implementing innovative, new business models.

AMAZING BOOK IF YOU WANT TO UNDERSTAND WHAT BUSINESS MODEL IS
If you had to get one book on business model, this would be the book to get. This book is the culmination of several decades of work on the business model and business model innovation written by the two most prominent figures in the field, and I found this book to be both engaging and transformative. Highly recommended!

Interesting read- extremely academic though
Certainly an interesting read. Although Iโm in last chapter of the book few things stood out for me. First was often managers/strategists mistake product innovation as business model innovation. I felt product innovation could be a subset of business model innovation. Secondly, activity mapping is very helpful on a high level to visualize the core activity system of a business and this concept can be applied in various situations. Story telling to elaborate the business model was extremely insightful. I felt there was a lot of repetitiveness in the content. To add further, book had a strong academic inclination - something more practical with real stakes would have helped.

Good entry point for those who will be working in the area of business strategies & models
Iโve only read the first 100 pages but so far this book has been useful. It includes meaningful discussions of business model theories along with relevant examples. The examples are a bit shallow, but when combined with the discussion of theory the book gives you sufficient knowledge to go more in-depth on analysis of existing and/or creation of business models. The references proving useful further reading. I think this is a good starting point for professionals who wish to work in the design, management and growth of businesses.
