Callaway Supersoft Golf Balls (One Dozen) Prior Generation Model

I have to be honest and say I never really believed that what type of golf ball you use makes any difference. I buy a bag full of refurbished balls for 20 bucks and use them till I lose them. While I was at the golf store buying clubs for my daughter, the owner of the store told me to try a sleeve of these Callaway Supersoft Balls. Since I am a long time customer, he gave it to me for free to try it out. Needless to say, after trying them out, I went back to him and bought 4 boxes(that was all he had left). I then went on Amazon and bought another 2 boxes. And yes, I lose a LOT of balls. I swear someone is stealing my golf balls after I tee off! I don't know where these things go.PROS:1. It goes really far. I have an moderate golf swing speed, not fast or slow. I gained about 10 to 15% in distance on my clubs. How do I know? I usually use a 9 iron on a par 3 hole in my course. I always land that at the front of the green and it settles somewhere in the middle. When I tried the same club with this ball, the ball landed near the back of the green, bounced and disappeared past the green. My score was terrible that day, but it was because I did not know which club to use for this ball the get the same distance I needed. I have since found the right distance though. I am not going to change balls anytime soon.2. Very soft touch on the short game. Chipping and putting with this is an absolute joy. I does not jump off your club or putter like other balls do. It is my absolute favorite ball for chipping and putting. I can more easily predict the distance because the ball is predictable.3. It wants to go straight. I slice sometimes and with other balls it is really obvious. With this Callaway Supersoft, the degree of the slice is smaller and not as embarrassing. Small enough that if I aim for the middle of the Fairway, the worst that I have gotten is the light rough beside the right Fairway. If you like doing Fades or Draws, I don't think this ball is for you because I tried it and it just went straight.4. Great stress relief. If you want to keep your pride and ego, these are the balls that will help you. It just make playing more enjoyable that I am hitting more fairways and nailing my short game.CONS:1. I don't know if this counts as a con but one of the reason this ball goes so far for me is that it does seem to bounce a lot more when it lands on the fairway. But since I am hitting straighter with this and landing the fairways more often, I use it to my advantage by gaining another 5 to 10 yards. But that is only when you hit it with a full swing. Chips and putts are the exact opposite. Those do not go as far as the other balls.SUMMARY:I guess if you are reading this review, you are not playing in the PGA or LPGA and are like the rest of us that just want to walk off the course with a decent score, then this is a great ball for you to try. This is the most forgiving ball I have ever tried and it keeps me playing. See you guys on the course.

This is my favorite golf ball. It makes playing more enjoyable because I am able to be more consistent and make better shots effortlessly. I shot my best round by two strokes with this golf ball. Two weeks later I topped that by another two strokes.The key thing for me is that these Super Soft golf balls have very low spin. I am a slicer and a fairly consistent one. While these balls are not by any means a slice-cure, or guaranteed accurate, they do help a lot. Traditionally, my slice gets me into a lot of trouble. But with these balls, it is more controlled and usually ends up going fairly straight or with more of a fade than a big slice.Another benefit is the short game. My chipping consistency has greatly improved with these. I'm able to be more confident and loft the ball more, due to the softer feel. I'm able to control the speed better and get it closer to the hole.Finally, these golf balls are inexpensive and an incredible value. I'm losing fewer of these balls due to the better consistency, and my pocketbook doesn't take much of a hit when I do lose one. Every casual golfer should give these a try. Cheap investment in your game compared to lessons or new clubs.

I am an 18 handicap. Solid bogey golfer. I have been playing for around 5 years. I have mostly played with whatever ball I find or that's on sale. Lately, I've tried alot of different balls that are aimed at my game: more distance, softer, etc. Top Flite Gamer V2, Wilson Duo, Noodle, etc. I couldn't really tell a difference between any of them and any random ball you throw out there. I read about these Super Soft balls on the internet and the reviews sounded like all of the others, but I saw them on sale at Dick's and figured what the hey. Boy was I surprised. Distance off the tee is not all that special. Where this ball shines is around the greens. I've never been able to stop a ball or control the amount of roll out. With this ball it's super easy. Greenside bunkers are almost a joy to play from. There is something very satisfying about popping one out of the sand and have it go right where you want it. Putting does feel different as other reviews have stated, but it takes all of 4-5 holes to adjust.Bottom line: these are the best ball I have played in my entire time playing golf. I'm stocking up.

My index is 16.5 and I'm 75--strictly a bogey golfer with a swing speed of around 80. When I saw that the Callaway Supersoft was only 38 compression it about blew me away and I knew I had to try it. I ordered it Wednesday, it arrived Friday, and I played with it today (Saturday). It was cold, foggy and overcast (temperature was 28 degrees when I got back home). But I was determined to try out this new ball. And I absolutely LOVE it!! I've never before had a ball that felt much different to me than any other. But the Callaway felt soft as a tennis ball. There's not a doubt in my mind it added distance to my shots. Around the green the soft feel gave me much more confidence in my stroke than the "click" you can get from a hard ball. I'll make you a friendly wager. You buy this ball. And my bet is you'll see enough of a difference you, too, will be writing a review about Callaway's best golf ball ever (for slow swingers, of course--which probably covers half the population). And, by the way, I shot 84!

I am by no means a pro golfer, but I do know how to play and enjoy the game. These were on a lightning deal so I jumped on them. They have a great feel coming of the club face, are easy to track (I got the yellow) and provide a soft feel around the green. I would have given them 5 stars but these are true to their title: soft! I hit one into some shrubs and my pro-v1's would not have "scratched" like the SS Callaway did. Made a 1/4" mark on the ball and was very surprised, but that is the price to pay for a Super Softy. I think if I was a better golfer I would get more benefit from these, but overall for the price and feel I am satisfied.

Quality balls at a good price. Even though these are classed as a very soft ball I had no loss of distance from the tee and they are very responsive around the green. Just one point though is that a short chip might need a little more club speed to go as far as a harder ball.

These are definately the right balls for me (Senior 72 ) They suit my swing speed and help my now shorter visability. I have used them for several weeks now and found them hard wearing but very soft and long and controlable, they also don't seem to be so attracted to water as they, for me, tend to stay straighter. Thank You " Callaway" I have also invested in X2 Hot driver and 5 wood. seem a very good combination. Watch this space

Tried these at the weekend i was expecting to be disappointed, a mid range ball with a lot of advertising hype behind. I have got a slow swing speed but still manage to play to an 11 H/P so rely a lot on my short game and being able to play fairway woods which i have to a lot. Add to that my age 61 and you need all the help you can get, Ok not the best of conditions to test a new ball in, but I was getting at least 15yrds extra carry.I have gained a lot of distance on my iron shots, and whilst they don't seem any longer off the driver they do keep their line very well indeed. But the best thing is how they feel off the face of the putter, like butter and really controllable. and off the putter Wow. I can't wait until conditions get back to normal so I can really test them. so impressed. Feels different to any other ball. Springy, bouncy, like a rubber ball; but I like the liveliness; gives me a bit more umph. Drives straight and feels nice to putt with, always with that lively feel. Bought another box because I didn't want to be without these & sometimes my golf balls can often be lost in the rough or those horrible ponds! I am a low handicap senior, so losing some club head speed. This ball is giving me 15 to 20 yards more off the tee, 10-15 yards on irons. Best of all, no shock to the system when you hit it slightly off center. Very soft, but very long. Great golf ball

Lovely soft feel around the greens and seems to be more controllable.Long distance can't say I notice much of a difference but then greens are where the money is.
