The Bad Butterfly (Billie B. Brown)

This was a super cute story. My 6 year old really enjoyed it. I love the message that we should all play to our strengths regardless of what is considered the norm. The illustrations were adorable and my daughter had very little trouble with the vocabulary. Will be buying more Billie books!

My daughter loves loves loves these books. Her second grade teacher suggested them to me for over the summer reading and I have to say that the chapter books being shorter has really given her confidence in reading a boost. She's always so proud when she finishes one and gives a very clear recap of the book when finished.

My granddaughter is reading a little better and I think the books are holding her interest. She can't wait for the next book. Are there other Billie B Brown I may order....

Cute book

My daughter is 7 and this was prefect reading for a day of school that she was home sick.

I actually had the pleasure of reading a different book when Ginny was younger from this series. So I of course loved that book so I knew that I needed to get some more of the books and start reading them to Cassie. Because it's important to get her patient ability to be longer when reading books together. As it will be important as she learns to read on her own but also when the books get longer that we read together. This is a short chapter book that an adult can read on their own in a single day. But of course when reading to a two year old you can only read a chapter a day. I love Billie so much in this book. She is every little girl who wants to do it all. She wants to be the girlie girl but she also wants to do the big sports as well. She wants to be who she is and that is totally okay. I loved the illustrations throughout this book. Also Cassie really enjoyed listening to me read it and was excited to find out we had more Billie books.

This whole idea of boys can be girls and girls can be boys is getting out of control . I was so excited to read this book but even my 7year old daughter found it very strange and out of the normal. Definitely this is not a book that I would recommend. So sad about it .
