Perfect sensor for my new trunk LED light strips
I had to extend the wiring and bend the mount slightly BUT this sensor has worked perfectly for my LED trunk light in my Mustang.Update 11/19 - I was driving with the back seats down and on hard braking the light came on occasionally. I would not qualify this as an issue AND with the sensor mounted properly this only happened occasionally and when the trunk is open I had no issues or flickering as reporting by others. All I had to do to ensure this steady operation was tilt the mounting about 15 degrees offset of the back of the trunk.

Worked perfectly
Nice to be able to install it two different ways. I installed it inside the panels on a lift gate of my car for a light and it works great.

Works perfectly.
Very simple inline connection and installation for my '47 Cad trunk lid. Plenty of lead wire allows it to be hidden easily. Switch connects or disconnects when it's horizontal. Work as well as a mercury switch and is very reasonably priced.

Amperage too low to directly power an LED light strip of more than a run of 3 LEDs. BUT…
This is a great switch but it can only operate a circuit of 20 mili-amps. If yours failed - now you know. That’s the draw of about 3 LEDs on an LED light strip. Instruction specifically state - you need to use this switch to trigger a relay for power draw above 20 mA. 12v automotive relays are easy to find at an auto store and can handle high power operations. Pretty simple to connect.

Does not work for long.
Wired it in and it didn't seem bright enough and after a few days it got even dimmer. Checked the wiring and the only thing that was malfunctioning was the switch.

The switch works okay, but a little overly sensitive ...
The switch works okay, but a little overly sensitive, tends to flicker if move slightly. also remember that this will need an external relay to drive anything that requires more than a few milliamps of current.

Works great.
Took a bit of fiddling to get position right so it would activate when liftgate was opened but it works.
