Seeing ostriches race at the Texas state fair had me hooked on them; human jockeys rode them. An ostrich's large eyes with the feathered eyelashes (unlike other birds) are beautiful. Yes, their bodies seem kind of funny but they are powerful and actually beautiful birds. I went to see them at an exotic animal farm and could spend hours watching them. They followed me along the fence line similar to the fish in the aquarium did the main character in the movie "Evan Almighty". Caution: using a camera near them--always use the tiny hole kind as they peck literally everything! This book is the only book I could find anywhere on them but it is well done and does cover them well.

The product was used (i believe) but in perfect condition, nonetheless. I needed it for a project for school and it came just in the knick of time. Great product for a great price.

You will find all you need to know about the biggest bird around today. Godd on their evolution and ancestry. Brilliant on their biology. Highly readable and informative. Recommended.
