Where have these shoes been all my life? I love 'em!
I have capsulitis in one foot's bones right before the toe bones, so doc said I needed something that would spread the weight of steps evenly instead of bending there, for relieving the pain in the ball of my foot. Man, as soon as I put these on I felt like "Where have these shoes been all my life? These really feel great, nice fit snug but not tight, solid but not heavy. Very stylish too although a simple style, they look classy yet simple. Plus they add an inch or two to your height, yet don't look like platforms. The arch area could be a bit higher, but that is minor detail, I just built my arch area up a bit with duct tape, it solved that fine. My experience: These make me fee great and look good. I immediately after receiving the first pair went right back to Amazon and ordered a second pair!

Perfect (second time around)
I have been a wearer of clogs for a long time. I got turned on to them when I used to work in restaurants (had black professional Dansko). After that stint I always had a pair around. My oiled tan open-back Sanita after at least a dozen years just literally wore out. I wanted a change of color and closed back so I chose these. They really are beautiful and very well made. I compare them to the Danskos I flat out returned because they are no longer the quality they used to be (fit or finish) - which is not reflected in the price they are asking. However I did end up exchanging the first pair of these Sanitas. The right one was overly snug and my left foot was swimming in the clog. I took some crude measurements and the leather of the left clog's (not the sole of course) dimensions were larger. I know these are largely handmade and slight variations are fine but shoes should fit. I exchanged them through Amazon (at no additional cost) and am happy to report that this second pair is perfectly sized - not too loose, not too tight on either foot. I hope to get at least a dozen more happy feet years out of these. The burgundy/oxblood color is really well done.

Poor Quality for the money
Originally was happy with these for the first few months. Started with solid fit an comfort. Wear my shoes daily at work (restaurant) for 10 -12 hrs a day, 5 days a week. Typically a pair of clogs lasts a year then I move on. About 4-5 months in these shows began to self destruct. The inner padding all shifted, bunching at the bottom, pretty much resetting itself with the adhesive that was used in manufacturing. Pretty much had to rip them out to make them wearable again, then had to buy aftermarket insoles. About the same time both shoes split fully across the ball of my feet on both shoes. This created a place for water / liquid I may step in, which happens often. Then the insides become damp & wet. Exterior showed a lot more scuffing and deterioration than pairs I've owned in the past. Overall I would not purchase again. Not worth the price for a few months of comfort. Poor construction & quality in these.

Excellent for standing. Durable. Might roll them ankles.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with this pair of clogs. It's true, they do run a bit small - not in the length as that runs relatively true but in the width of the shoe. I'm a size 8.5-9 and this pair of 43 (9.5-10) fit me pretty well and was still slightly tight in the toebox in terms of width. So what should you order? I'd say go a at least pick the higher of the two if you're in between and if you have wide-ish feet, go 1 full size higher. Don't worry about the length because the way you walk in the shoes, you're heel is supposed to lift off from the back anyways. Does it get stretched out/break in? - the padding and softness of the soles certainly do but the width didn't as dramatically. The side stiches are heavy duty and the side walls are relatively thick in this shoe so I don't see this stretching out for quite some time. How does it look? - It's not fashionable but it doesn't attract attention either. It also boosts you about an inch higher with the heel. Durability? - 2 months in and no major creases in the top surface of the toebox. No other signs of wear or tear. Comfort level walking vs standing? - I believe this shoe is made for standing as opposed to walking. My heel gets sore as the day goes on when standing and this shoe has a raised heel that makes you stand as if you are on your tippy toes. It redistributes your weight more evenly between the heels and the balls of your feet. I've also had to walk a ton at work in these shoes (1-2 miles daily because it's a large place) and you feel a bit of the heft of these shoes walking that much. But I didn't get aches and pains in my calves or other parts of my feet in these shoes walking. Why 4 stars? - Propensity to roll your ankles. I'd avoid this if you've seriously injured your ankles by rolling it in the past 1-2 years. Definitely avoid if you still roll your ankles in regular shoes just walking. This shoe is relatively narrow and high. So like an SUV, roll over accidents seem to happen spontaneously until you learn to pay attention by not stepping to the side in a carefree manner. I rolled my right ankle twice in the first day (I've injured this one before). Then 2 more times in the past 2 months. None of it was serious at all but I did look like a fool. I'd say 10-20% of people might experience this occasionally. This doesn't prevent me from wearing this though.

same as dansko in the 90s
i got my first pair of clogs in the late 90s, wore them 300+ days a year for probably 10 years years before they wore out. when i replaced them with the dansko brand, they were never quite the same as the first pair. the danskos had a thicker pad around the top that made them tighter than my first pair and they felt just a little bit higher and slightly unstable. fast forward another 5 years or so, and my 2nd pair (danskos) were wearing, stretched, staples coming out and the toe box had totally stretched out so they made my feet look huge). since the sanita clogs are slightly cheaper than danskos, i did some research and found that sanita is the original maker of these clogs- like it says on the box. turns out- sometime in the last 10 years or so, dansko diverged and resdesigned their clogs and started making their own shoes, and sanita continues to make the original. (i.e. "danskos" in the 90s were made by sanita and branded as danskos). so i bought the sanita brand and have loved them from the moment i put them on. they are exactly like my first pair. the toe box is sleeker, and they feel lighter and lower than my most recent last pair- and that cushion on the top part- does not dig into my foot. so happy with my discovery.

Very comfortable
Sanita, being the original manufacturer of Dansko soles, definitely makes a quality product. Unlike the Timberland shoes I tried, my toes do NOT hit the end of the shoe (even with plenty of breathing room in the Timberland shoes). I find these to be the most comfortable of any shoes I have tried for being on my feet for hours. My feet hurt no matter what I do, but these definitely feel the best. One review mentioned that these shoes are not rated as anti-slip. That is true, but I find that they work well enough. Sanita does make a 'Leo' shoe that has a much better anti-slip sole. I have been working in these shoes for over 1 month and have yet to have a major slip. If you need serious anti-slip protection, I do not recommend these shoes. I have tried the Leo version and that has serious anti-slip protection. Overall, these shoes are wonderful.

But these were PERFECT! No breaking in required and I can wear ...
Ordered these a little bigger because a previous pair I bought wasn't as wide. But these were PERFECT! No breaking in required and I can wear them with or without socks. It took a long time for me to "suck it up" to pay the price, but this is my third pair and I am so glad I got them. Wish I could have gotten over being cheap. So I have ankle issues, arthritis staring in this foot, planters faceitis, and bad knees. I'll tell you, I can walk around all day or be on my feet all day and knees and feet feel like a million bucks! Just LOVE these shoes. For sizing, I wear a 10 in women's and about an 8 and 1/2 in men's. I ordered the 44 and they fit perfect.

1/2 size smaller will cost you 30% more.
I just got my Cabrio's in the mail today. Great looking clog, but the sizing is not quite correct. I ordered the 45/ 11-11.5 which is what I normally take in a clog. Well, these were a little loose, so I'm thinking since they're offering free returns I may as return/exchange for the next size down, the 45/11. As Im about to check out I notice the that the price is different. I paid $96.89 for the 11-11.5 and the next size down is listed at $119.95. A mistake surely. So I contact the seller and this is their reply: Murph, Online sales prices are driven by automated systems based on various factors and times of the year. The next or anticipated next price is unpredictable and the time frame for that price temporary. Pricing can also very by size. Thank you Tina Cambridge Select So, there you have it. One HALF size less is 30% more. Go figure. I thought factors such as time of the year and anticipated price was for oil, coffee, corn, yanno, commodities n and such. But clogs?. Im awaiting a reply back from the seller to see if they'll see reason and be realistic and give me the same pricing for the half size smaller pair. If not I'll return them and purchase from a different vendor.
