IKEA Arkelstorp Desk, Black

This desk is made from wood and has an attractive pine top. It took some concentration to get it together, but definitely worth the time! That’s IKEA!

First of all, simply overpriced because you could just buy one from IKEA for $199, or $250 including delivery. Mine arrived earlier than expected, however it happened to be a warehouse unit where it’s partially new and partially assembled. Had to repackage it and send it back. However, seller was kind enough to issue a full refund so it’s not a terrible experience after all. On the desk itself, beautiful and sturdy, but not of the best quality, just what you would expect from an IKEA product.

This desk is beautiful, large, and sturdy. But am I the only one who constantly hits my knee on the drawer

Purchased this desk from IKEA store directly ($199...) PROS: - Very nice looking desk. Table top surface is solid pine, and it's quite nice. - Desk is very sturdy. Does not need to be pushed against a wall for stability. - Decent size for a large single monitor and 2 large speakers, or 2 decent sized monitors and smaller speakers. - Enough room for a larger computer chair to slide in (La-Z-Boy Nexus), even with the drawers on the left side. CONS: - drawer bottom is the typical IKEA cardboard. I am confident the draw liner will break if something heavy is placed inside. And it will surely sag over time. Recommend to replace the cardboard liners with something more sturdy or durable in the event those sag/break. - No effort or thought put into cable management, so you'll have find unique ways to hide your cables. Even with the cons, I'm still giving this table 5 stars. It's good looking, simple, and sturdy, which was exactly what I was looking for.
