Rotring Isograph Junior Set 3X Technical Pens (0.20mm, 0.40mm, 0.60mm) + Accessories

These pens make excellent satisfying lines. My only complaint is that I wish they were built a little more sturdy. For a pen that I want to last forever, how about a nice metal build. I also wouldn't mind a little more weight to it. But all in all, if you want a technical pen that's refillable and makes smooth consistent lines, this is the way to go. Plus, you save quite a bit of money buying the 3 packs.

If you need technical precision in your art or drafting work this is the set to get. Cannot recommend the isograph pens more highly - easy to fill/easy to clean. Ink flow has been consistent from the 1st use. The compass was especially useful since the pens fit perfectly in the attachment provided. Have to say that beyond contents of the kit...the thick plastic sliding cover also doubles as a ruler/template...a bit of a bonus that I didn't know I needed.

I read in a review after I made the purchase that the caps to the pens do not post. Hopefully this will help as this is kind of a deal breaker for some. Other than that they are good pens. I haven't had any issues with ink leaks or dry nibs. I purchased the master set that includes the cover that doubles as ruler/protractor/stencil. Came with 3 pens (.5, .3, and .2 nibs), ink, basic mechanical pencil with extra .5 lead, eraser, and compass with additional lead and needle for the compass. I believe the compass takes 2.0 lead but they are short leads like an inch in length. I wish the compass was universal to all leads. It came with a pen converter for the compass so you can screw the pens in to use if you don't want to use the lead. I think it's kind of dumb that the set has 2 different lead items. If they include a .5 lead pencil then the compass should take .5 leads in my opinion.. Or if it has a 2.0 lead compass it should include a 2.0 lead holder instead of a mechanical pencil. Not that this would even work as the compass only accepts short 2.0 leads. With that size you can't even use a lead pointer to sharpen the compass leads. Kind of disappointed that this high quality brand would look over these details in a master set and for the price it should have come with a 600 mechanical pencil.

Rotring Isograph pens work beautifully for drawings with fine details, the one issue I had with the pens in the beginning was that the ink didn't want to flow easily with the pens, but once I rinsed the nibs with water then replaced the ink capsules they worked well. The box arrived a little bit torn and tattered at the corners and a little dusty - perhaps they had been stored for a while, but the inner box and the pens were in perfect condition.
