Useful to measure bolts / threads etc
I bought this for the thread gauge (to be able to replace an existing bolt). It's useful, being able to compare thread size against the tool, giving the correct pitch for the thread and can check bolt size (M6,8,10 etc). Useful, will be kept readying the toolbox for the next time.

Takes the guess work out - using on a defender that Land Rover production guys used a big box of nuts and bolts , like pick’n mix - I have unf, metric and I also believe some to be from another planet….

Finding the right Screw or Bolt.
I bought this to size up and purchase some replacement bolts, I didn't understand a lot of the markings because it came without basic instructions, that being said, I did buy the correct bolts. In the Amazon search box I wrote the hole code that the bolt fit snugly into, then the length, then Bolts, I pressed Enter and searched the results. At some point I'll check out YouTube for How 2 Use instructions to understand the markings.
