Ticonderoga 48008 Emphasis Pocket Style Highlighter, Chisel Tip, 6/Set (Dix48008)

Honestly, I'm not sure why the Bic Brite Liners are so popular considering how dull they are.I initially purchased the Bic Brite Liners, but when I used them, the colors were so dull I thought maybe the pack I bought from the store were old or something. I would've tolerated using the Bic Brite Liners, but when I saw how dull the PINK was, I decided it wouldn't work.I did a lot of searching online for reviews and general information about highlighter types. I loved the almost glowing brightness from the liquid highlighters, but they always bled through too much and I inevitably wound up with ink on my fingers either from a leak (common) or from touching around the tip as it would often get ink in the cap.When I got these Ticonderoga Emphasis highlighters, I was instantly satisfied and delighted. The pink was especially important to me since I use it to indicate the most urgent/critical parts of my journal entries that I really don't want to miss when I review it for notes to myself.Lastly, I love how the Ticonderoga highlighters had excellent "transparency" (i.e. what i wrote with pencil is still clear and crisp) while maintaining vibrant, "saturated" (as in not faded or just "light") colors. I found that the Bic Brite Liners tended to darken the paper and my writing enough to make my writing noticeably less legible. This may not be an issue for ink, but it was for pencil.I included a photo comparing the Bic Brite Liners with the Ticonderoga Emphasis highlighters both with flash and without flash since the brightness could be inaccurately represented by either setting.I didn't include the purple Ticoderoga Emphasis because the Bic Brite Liners pack I bought did not have a purple.tldr: Don't waste your time with Bic Brite Liners. Just get the Ticonderoga Emphasis highlighters.*note: I'm don't have something against Bic Brite Liners in particular. Haha. They are just the only ones I've tried recently. I can't speak for how the Ticonderoga Emphasis compares with other highlighters.

I've tried almost EVERY type of fluorescent highlighter that Amazon offers (15+ brands) and I just stumbled upon these last month. All 6 colors are SUPER bright (yes, even the purple!!) and easy to see through. Those of you in law school will probably understand my frustration with highlighters that will soak through the casebook pages but I'm happy to report that these do not!I never thought I'd be writing a review for a highlighter but after my (costly) quest for the perfect highlighter, I thought someone out there may benefit from this. I've recommended these to my friends in med school and now they swear by them too. Since I've only had them for a month, I don't really know how long they will last but so far all the colors still look pretty much full. If they run out too quickly (like within the next couple of weeks) I will come back and update this review. Honestly though, I'd keep on buying these even if they only lasted a couple of weeks because of the qualities I listed above.I love these even more than my previous favorite, the  Staedtler Textsurfer Classic Highlighter, Chisel Tip, Blue/Green/Orange/Pink/Purple/Red/Turquoise/Yellow, 8 per Set (364WP8) .One tip: The caps on the highlighters come off very easily by design (for easy one-handed removal) so that means they will uncap in your bag. Sometimes when I'm in a hurry I'll just throw all my pens and highlighters into my bag and a couple will be slightly uncapped when I pull them out for class. I don't think this is worth taking off a star at all but just something to keep in mind.EDIT: These lasted about 8/9 months - I bought a new pack in March 2013. Glad to see this review is helping :)

These are the only highlighters I've found that don't easily bleed through pages, especially the thin pages of a Bible. Expensive but highly recommend.

I was really excited about these highlighters after I read the rave reviews. I'm a medical student and I like to highlight my lecture notes to keep myself engaged while I'm reading. These highlighters are the perfect neon shades--bright, colorful, and not too dark. I love the purple! What can I say, having a nice rainbow of highlighters to use makes hundreds and hundreds of pages of notes more bearable to study.Sadly, after using them for only two weeks, they're almost completely dried out. I know I highlight a lot, but the reviews led me to believe they'd last longer than that. I still like them, but I'm also going to have to try out other brands.Update: These are still my favorite highlighters. The beautiful neon colors are unlike any other highlighters I've used, and I've tried a lot of different brands. I posted a picture trying to show how unique the coloring of these highlighters is, but it doesn't really do them justice. They are lighter and more neon than other higlighters; that's the best way I can think of to describe them.I guess they don't dry out any quicker than different brand highlighters of equivalent size, but I wish they'd make a longer-lasting version of these! I've purchased 7 packs of these highlighters over the past couple years, and the best price I've seen them at consistently is $3.89 as an add-on.

After about 9 months or so of use for school, the green and pink have gotten to the point of drying out. The others are fine though.

Works excellent and looks beautiful; especially well suited for use on Bible pages by not bleeding through! I am a repeat purchaser that doesn't want to use anything but the best!I can't speak as to the "SHEERNESS" because that does not compute relative to writing devices; but the "THICKNESS" is possibly relative to the width of highlighting coverage: which I found to be highly adequate.

Tried these on regular paper and colors didn't bleed through. That's what I was looking and hoping for and wasn't let down. :) would and sure, I will buy again. ;)

Sone of the pens make fair highlighting but most ae dry adn scratchy

Have lasted a year so far, easy to use and love the price and the range of colours

use them daily. Strong color with great transperancy
