Is Buck Knives family-owned?

Yes. It has been passed down through four generations of the Buck family, with the current CEO being C.J. Buck. Our history is rooted in the Buck family's dedication to knife making, starting with Hoyt Buck's creation of his first knife in 1902.

What can I use these pocket knives for?

Camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, and at-home use, for tasks such as opening boxes, cutting threads or tags, and slicing snacks.

Why would I need a pocket knife?

An everyday carry folding pocket knife is a versatile tool. It can be used for opening packages, cutting ropes and strings, crafting, whittling, slicing food, and removing splinters. It can also be helpful in first aid and emergency situations.

How are the materials for the knives selected?

Buck Knives uses aluminum, Micarta, wood, steel, and more, to build high-quality knives that will last for generations. Materials are selected based on the knife’s intended use, ensuring you get the best-serving material in a purpose-built knife.

What is a locking mechanism, and what are the different kinds of locking mechanisms?

A locking mechanism secures the blade in the open position, preventing it from accidentally closing during use or while open. Some locking mechanisms used in Buck knives include lockback, crossbar lock, liner lock, frame lock, and button lock.
