UL2468 Certified 18AWG Tinned Copper Wire (2 * 0.85mm²) - RoHS2.0 NP Eco-Friendly PVC Dual Parallel Cable for LED Lighting, Electronics, 300V 80°C

This is a good value wire to have in my fixit shop.

Wire not as advertised. This wire is NOT 18 gauge as stated. I thought it looked small so I tested it (2 times) before writing this review because I wouldn't want to mistakenly give a bad review. 18 gauge wire has 6.365 ohms per 1000 feet. This wire is 8.23 ohms per 1000 feet. Electrically it specs out at not even 19 gauge. This might not seem to be a big problem but the difference is over 20%. This would mean a greater that 20% more loss and heat in the circuit. I know the wire actually says 18 gauge on the jacket but this is not the first time I've seen electrical items blatantly mis-labled from China manufacturers. I will also say that other than being the wrong size (gauge) it is a full 20 meters long and the copper conductors are tinned as advertised. Which is what I needed for a marine application so I will give it two stars for that aspect. As for softness? No it's not but I didn't need that for my particular project. As for value, it would have been spot on if the wire would have actually been 18 gauge.

The wire is really what people want, the wire stripper that comes with it is just a useless gimmick. I would like to see that thrown out to drop the price a few cents.
