Best external drive on the market
I have used LaCie in the past and always found them reliable and resilient. As someone who travels with my computer this product leaves me no worry it will be damaged. Transfer speeds are great, storage capacity is more than enough with 2TB and compatible with mac and pc. Excellent functionality.

Rugged & Reliable
The LaCie Rugged Mini 2TB external hard drive is an excellent choice for those seeking durability, portability, and ample storage. While it may not be the fastest option, its reliability, security features, and user-friendly interface make it a solid investment for backing up important files.

Easy to set up.and use
This is easy to use and easy to set up and you can also register it and they insure the product I.e. lacie ..It's a rugged drive which will still.work if you drop.it or run over it in your vexhile...It's recommended for your apple laptop or iPad or Mac..The drive is quite fast but could do with being like a 9200tpm meaning a little fasterThe price of.this.is very high however what you have to remember is this is not a standard hard drive this is a branded one a lacie and it's very fast ideal for your apple equipment and overall I do recommend

HDD great, solid but Creative cloud offer does not work
Update: Lacie have called me in response to my last email I sent them apologising as they have stated they did not receive the details I sent them. I re sent them whilst on the call and they confirmed the mail made it to them, this was very positive and I will update the review on the conclusion.I already had some of these drive in a different capacity & was pleased with them. Unfortunately when I went to try to claim the free creative cloud offer on this purchase the Lacie app just kept sending me to a URL where the page did not exist stating 404.Customer support has been poor telling me to use the app, I explained the app don't work and they closed the ticket. This concerns me as if I had a fault with the HDD I know Lacie would not be a reliable source of support however as I purchased these in the UK Amazon provide the warranty under law so I am going to keep them as I know I don't need Lacie's help if things go wrong.

Does exactly what I wanted it to
I’ve owned a LaCie hard drive for a few years with zero trouble so when I needed extra storage I had no hesitation in choosing LaCie again, rather than trawling through the reviews of other brands. 2TB is plenty for me and the price is reasonable in my opinion at just under one hundred quid.I’m using it with an older MacBook which has USB and unfortunately the LaCie Rugged Mini comes with a USB-C cable, so I was on the verge of buying an adapter when I thought I’d try my cable from the older LaCie and it works just fine. Set up was easy and I was backing up with Time Machine within 5 minutes of opening the box. You just have to go into disc utilities on the Mac and allow Time Machine to access the new drive. The tool kit app which you need to do the set up is rather superfluous once you’re up and running and the prompts to download some sort of Adobe software are annoying, unless of course you actually want it, which I don’t, it’s not free after the first month anyway. Ignoring that tiny gripe all was well.I noticed another reviewer saying that the drive goes to sleep if left for extended periods, well that isn’t true, as long as your computer doesn’t go to sleep then the LaCie is active. I knew that my initial Time Machine back up might take a few hours so I left it running and went to bed. The following morning I checked it and it had finished within a couple of hours and the drive was still mounted.I then began copying specific files over and encountered the first and only difficulty. Every single action was requiring my MacBook admin password, which although not a huge problem, became very tedious after a while. Eventually I sussed it out, by opening the drives “get info” window from Finder, the permissions need to be set to read and write rather than read only, that fixed it. Now it works exactly as I want it to and I’m very happy. Speeds are not lightning fast but acceptable, the USB-C connection may or may not affect that, I’m not sure. Finally, it comes housed in a protective case which stops damage from dropping or crushing it, which is a nice touch even if it is a hideous orange colour!

Excellent Quality
These drives are excellent quality and work really well. I use mine as the Time Machine backup drive on my MacBook Pro laptop. It has never failed me. I also have another one exact same model bought 7 years ago from another source which I use for file storage and is still going strong today.

Poor performance and not reliable
If I could give this zero stars I would. Easily corruptible and very difficult to open and close. The connectors are not secure and can easily seperate from the device. We have lost many years of memories and work due to our dependence on these storage devices. We certainly would not recommend them.
