I had read many reviews for different dash cameras before I purchased this one. After a month of use, I have to say I'm very happy. I took it from the box, plugged it in, and it just started recording when I started the car! (And yes, that's loop recording). This is perfect for evidence that you were not "at fault" in an accident.It comes with a chip (some cameras don't) that holds about an hour of recording.The suction cup that attaches to the windshield is very sturdy.The camera can be quickly and easily removed, in case you are worried somebody might break in and take the camera (or if there are extreme heat conditions in the vehicle).The power cord is plenty long enough to wrap around the windshield and under my dashboard.The camera does swivel easily to point at whatever you like, including inside your vehicle.It records audio, but you can turn it off.It has a sensor built in, so if there is a jolt to the car, the camera automatically copy-protects the file.This really needs to be plugged into the cigarette lighter, and not run off batteries.I don't see any need to buy a bigger chip. Basically it is always recording when the car is on. If you get into an accident, you just unplug the camera and you have your evidence! At that point, you can view the evidence right on the camera, or you can load the files from the chip onto a computer.It has a time & date stamp (make sure you set that when you first install the camera!).In some cases you won't be able to make out the license plate if there is a hit & run, but do you really need it? Sure, it would be great for that person to get busted, but this is enough evidence to show what happened. I have had this unit about a month now. It was easy to install and set up. It has worked great. I swapped out the 8Mb card with a 32 Mb card that I had on hand. The picture quality is really good day and night. I've had no issues with the suction cup holding it to the windshield. I am curious to see how it will hold up during the high temps in the summer. The unit it's self is smaller then I thought it would be. Which is good. I have it mounted on the drivers side of my rearview mirror. I did find myself looking at it when I was backing up instead of my backup camera which shows up inside of my rearview mirror. The instructions are Ok. I did have a question about a red light that was on and called the number listed. The person that I talked to had no idea or new anything about the product. He told me to check YouTube. The light eventually went out. I still do not know what it represented. So far, it has been well worth the money.

The GOOD; Works great and easy to use....Plug it into the ciggerette lighter power source and it turns on when the car is on and turns off shortly after the car is turned off...There is a power button to turn it back on if you want to record after your car is turned off...Great for police stops, just turn the camera towards the drivers side window after you power it up....It will keep everyone honest.The BAD; After owning it and using two, one in my vehicle and the other in my wife's car I have had to plug the camera into my PC and reformat the SD card.....that's what is requiring when it gives me a blue screen and displays data error....My wife's camera had done this twice then went snowy white....I plugged it into my PC and reformatted it but noticed some of the videos weren't able to be viewed, they were scrambled which is unacceptable especially if you need a video for an accident or an assault in your vehicle by someone....I replaced the Micro SD cards in both cameras, the SD cards it came with seem to freeze up....The cameras worked fine till my wife's camera shuts off all the time....this camera is JUNK....DON'T BUY!I replaced the micro SD card with a Hi-Def 128 gig card and it worked but after using it with the NEW card the camera wouldn't download or view videos from my PC.....I put the stock micro card back into it and it worked but this card has failed three times already....

I did not receive this item at a discounted price for a favorable review, I paid $65 for it. I like the size of the camera, and the ease of use. However, it is utterly worthless in anything less than broad daylight. Even in broad daylight the resolution is such that unless the camera is within 20' of another vehicle's license plate, you won't be able to read it when played back. It does not record continuously. The best you can get is 10 minute intervals with a seamless transition to the next video file. With audio off it uses about 1.5 GB for a 10 minute clip during daylight hours. I have had the camera randomly stop recording a few times, and I'll reboot it and it starts recording again. It has also randomly displayed a black playback screen several times, again I reboot it and all appears fine. It seems to work fine in temperatures down to 10 F. This is my first dashcam and has proven to me the value of a dashcam. However, for this camera, the price is way too high.UPDATED 4-23-2016 Changed from 3-star to 1-star. A deer ran directly into my car yesterday. I connected the camera to my laptop and although it appeared to be operating at the time, it was in fact not recording. In reviewing the videos from yesterday that were on the sd card, I noticed that the camera sometimes records even when the vehicle was not on! The camera is supposed to shut off when the car does. This camera is JUNK, do not waste your time.

Por el costo considero que es la mejor dash cam que te puedes conseguir. Con el ajuste del dólar anda por los 1,200 pesos, pero la primera que compré anadaba en poco menos de 900 pesos. La calidad de grabación es buena, es compacta, muy fácil de configurar. Terminamos comprando tres.

I bought this for my dad in India. After some time, it is not sticking to the windshield. It falls of from the windshield and there are some glitches in recording.

HORRIBLE DO NOT BUY- you will regret it.
