How good are these tea lights?

Each one holds 23g of wax in a deeper aluminium cup with a pure cotton wick, and burns for around eight hours. They are white and unscented, so a table full of them gives light without adding a smell.

Why does the flame look smaller than I expected?

A long-burn tea light is made to burn slowly and steadily, so the flame can look modest. For a brighter glow, group several together, use clear glass holders, and trim any long wick before lighting.

Will they fit my holders?

They are 3.8cm across and 2.3cm tall. The extra wax goes into depth rather than width, so they suit glass holders, lanterns and candelabras. Check shallow holders and wax burner wells have room for the height.

Why did one burn for less than eight hours?

Eight hours is a steady burn in still air. Draughts, open windows and tea lights packed close together make the flame burn hotter and faster, as does the heat that builds up under a wax warmer.

How do I use them safely?

Burn them in a holder on a flat, heat-resistant surface, away from curtains and anything flammable, and do not move them while the wax is liquid. Never leave a lit candle unattended, and keep them from children and pets.
